MINI JCW Team...

Hey everyone, I just happened to find the JCW Team on Instagram... Thought you might enjoy a few pics. 😉
So excited that they are racing near me this Summer at Watkins Glen International!

Very nice! I was able to see #37 in person at SEMA. You're lucky that you'll be able to see them in action.

I always pull for those guys.....hope they don't get wrecked as much this year & the MINIs really show their stuff in the wet! I'm thinking of going to Watkins Glen this summer. The JCWs need to take it to those Mazdas this year!!!!

Yup, last weekend in August. Check the IMSA website under Continental Tire Challenge.

Check with the local MINI guys near VIR , some of the track events owners form the local clubs have a party and meet up. Last time I believe Lap had sent out an invite for owners or posted about it.

Awesome! I didn't know this team existed. Looks like the CR/B color scheme on my order turns out to be not such a bad choice after all.

Race Update (1-29-16):

MINI JCW #37 is running 2nd in ST Class today at Daytona! (9th overall)...not too shabby! #73 got in a fender bender (left rear) but is still out there near the rear with #52.

Well, all three cars finished as far as I could tell watching the live feed on the computer. The MINI's definitely found some speed this year, but I'm thinking Daytona isn't the right kind of track for the JCW's.....they'll excel on road courses with lots of turns! :-)

Gonna keep the faith!

Found it. Thanks. I only live about ten miles from the track. My friends son works for a company that's headquartered at VIR so I might be able to score a free ticket.

This is their second season (though first full season). I went to the race on Friday and they actually had really good speed but ran into a few issues. See picture below.

Here's a link to the full schedule.

Oh jeez, not what the designers had in mind for a rear spoiler! LOL! Obviously got rear ended! They'll do better on the road courses. Daytona really isn't a very good venue for the smaller less powerful race teams! Television coverage sucks for such teams too!

Apparently they didn't get it all the way closed after a pit stop. There were plenty of laughs to have about it on twitter and at the track

That should be the stock size on the JCW, or better still the 18" equivalent. Then, those of us wanting more rubber on the pavement would be happier. The 205's were a stock size on the Gen 1 MINI's (much smaller car).

Awesome!! Did you happen to get a look under the hood? I'm curious what kind of intake they're using. 😉

Thanks for sharing the pics....that had to be a fun day! Did you happen to notice if they were running smaller brake calipers than the stock Brembos? I heard they went with smaller brakes to get the wheels to fit. Those are great looking wheels!
