cubic inches, carburation, etc.

I remember back in the 1990's how BMW was always behind the eight ball due to weight being added to the PTG M3's....it really screwed the success of those team cars!

Hopefully, the JCW Race Team cars will be more competetive this year, because if they aren't it'll be due to unfair application of the rules! No reason all the cars can't be within a certain HP/# of weight, etc.

Btw, on IMSA.com you can also monitor driver & team standings.
In other words the car that is penalized the most, not necessarily the one that wins, is the car to buy. That added weight was a badge of honor for BMW.

Nice write-up on the minijcwteam.com website about Daytona. Apparently (and as I feared) the MINI's were tossed about by competitors quite a bit during the race, but apparently the team felt they "had the speed" to stay with other cars in the ST Class!

So, on to Sebring with better results hopefully!....they sure have more room there to maneuver and it's not a banked oval, so the handling of the MINI's should help them be more competitive.

Yes Sebring should be a great race. Especially since this will be the team's second trip there (That was their first trip to Daytona). I'm excited! Be optimistic

Wish I was there to give you a better idea. Currently it's 84 and climbing with 50% humidity. So a hot day.

Well. I'd still support them if I still lived in FL! Maybe it'll rain! ;-)

Porsche seems to be doing what they do best. Being the spoilers. They make a car to the limits of the rule and tromp everyone with it. This goes back to the Le Mans and CanAm races of the '70s, most notably. Right now, out of the top 7 spots, 6 are Caymans.

Yeah the Porsche dominance is starting to get annoying. It's no wonder they make up a sizable portion of the field. I wouldn't be surprised if IMSA did some BOP changes after this race.

It's in the mid 80's here today. I am about 90 miles east of Sebring.

That's great! Race coverage starts at 12:20 ET today (Friday 3-18) on IMSA.com and the IMSA App.

Tough day at the track. The #37 accident was quite scary. Check out the full results here: http://miniracefan.com/2016/03/18/ra...s-sebring-150/
