MINI JCW Team...
You can download the IMSA app in the iOS app store and watch it on that. I think it even supports airplay if you wanted to put it on the TV.
You are the best.
Thanks; I should have figured that but it is no obvious from there web page that the app exists.
I have a computer hooked to my tv and it streams great to that.
Meet the owner and saw the production mock up Lap JCW car, very nice guy. I wish them well in Lime Rock.

I'm hoping to meet them next Friday; already have tickets for LRP for Friday but have to miss Saturday.
Hoping them well, too. LRP is a great MINI track (ask me how I know
)
The WGI race video is listed now on the IMSA web page and watched it last night. There was a nice discussion at the beginning about the MINI's but that disappeared quickly after they fell back in the pack and then all of the ST coverage disappeared out of the broadcast. A little disappointing but it was still a great race.
That accident at the beginning really showed why that track demands a lot of respect from drivers. It is very unforgiving. It is a good thing the MINIs were on the pole.

If the live stream is any indication then the broadcast of CTMP will have great coverage of the MINIs. They also spent most of the time talking about ST. But that might also have to do with the fact that their were only 4 GS cars.
Watched the qualifications today. The MINIs look good and seemed to move along well, but they just can't seem to put it together and get some good lap times. 7th was the best position they could get. I thought they would do well at LRP, but the Miatas do even better there.
But, hey, they do sound better than a Miata.

I've been to Lime Rock several times back in the days of the '02 Fest East BMW 2002 gatherings....great little track...you'd think it would be well suited to the MINI's. Maybe it will rain!
No luck there. Sunny, hot and humid.
The problem for the MINIs on this track is that all of the others cars in the ST class are well suited to the track. So, the competition will be there. It is a tight and highly technical track so maybe they can take advantage of that.
All in all it should be a great race.
The BMW 2002 was a great little car. One of those was my first car purchase. Used but still a lot of fun.

Race is over and the #37 was the top MINI in 13th. They tried to play a little strategy with the car but it didn't work out. #73 was running pretty good in the beginning until a Porsche rear ended him

Team MINI has sure had their troubles being competitive! I had high hopes for them this season....better but they must not have the same power to weight ratio as the other more competitive cars in ST Class. I'd like to see the dyno results of all cars! IMSA should require comparisons to be fair!
Here's hoping for better results at Road America next weekend! I watched the Lime Rock replay on Fox Sports 1 today and it was great seeing the MINI's racing in the early part of the race....but I didn't see them at all later in the race....coverage only showed the lead cars!

I've notice that sort of viewing coverage ( or lack thereof ) for last few years, even at the Glen....guess the camera jockey in the trailer has little imagination.

Some of those cars you see with the MINI's in ST class are required/using restrictor plates.....IMSA does a fine job making them equal.
#73 JCW 2nd fastet in first practice for Road America! http://miniracefan.com/2016/08/05/ro...ice-1-results/
I know it wasn't the best for MINI, but the Continental race at LRP has been post. But it could be a good "warm-up" watch.
It is interesting that the MINIs seem to be doing better on the longer tracks. I would have thought they would have done well at LRP. A short, tight track should have been perfect for them. But here they are doing just the opposite. Today's race should be interesting.

Mat Pombo in #73 is leading on lap 35....driving a hell of a race! Wow tight racing! Hung on with 3 cars bumper to bumper behind him! At least it's fun watching the MINI JCW leading for a change! He's pulling away even! Fabulous! ;-). The announcers are baffled!
Update -Race results: Pombo (#73) wound up 7th (I don't know what happened to him, unless he ran out of gas! He was a solid 2nd for most of the last part of the race); #52 was 12th, #37 was 20th...was off the course at one point...I believe he got bumped, but not sure.

What a race! Exciting from beginning to end. We didn't get the result we would have wanted but it was still an awesome run by the team. Full recap: http://miniracefan.com/2016/08/06/ra...-road-america/
We have to remember that the cars start out as stock and the programming for them is the same as in the F56's people driver on the road. I know they do some reprogramming, but apparently this is not one of the things they changed.
I got an update from the team. Apparently he didn't fully run out of fuel. The car had a fuel hiccup which sent the car into limp mode. He had to finish the last half of the last lap running at about 35mph. Bummer for sure.

Nice write-up about Road America on the IMSA website:
