Road America
Nice write-up about Road America on the IMSA website:

Drive Hard. Drive Safe. Keep Grinning.
One of my favorite U.S. tracks. Was fortunate to run my Mini Cooper S in the June Sprints and other races there, and compete in the first Pro Formula Ford Race. My least fond memory, though, is losing my brakes coming into corner 5 in the Mini at top speed!

Cool that you got to go around the track though
Put together a race preview for tomorrow's race at VIR.

Top MINI in qualifying was the #73 with Derek Jones behind the wheel. He will start 12th.

Watching Mat Pombo in the #73 while leading at Road America was truly exciting! That man can drive!!! Hope the #73 continues with that sort of run today! Good luck to all three cars! We really need a podium!!!!!
Podium finish for #73 at VIR! The end of the race had me biting my nails as Pombo drove through the field!

Great news! I saw where it was raining & much later I got back online & it looked like the race might be over....#73 was 18th...I was sad! But not now! Don't mess with the MINIs when it rains! LOL! I assume the other two cars were far behind?
The #37 got into an accident just before the red flag. It was pretty wet out there and I guess it went of course. That was the end of the day for them.
The #52 was toward the back for the whole race.
So pretty much as you surmised.

Heartbreaking news. Apparently there was an issue with timing and scoring due to the rain soaked red flag session at VIR. IMSA did an audit and found that the #83 Porsche finished in second. This bumped the #73 from 3rd to 4th and off the podium.
Yeah, IMSA should be really, REALLY ashamed! It's not right doing that to any driver (taking them off the podium due to scoring error)! Mistakes happen but this is a professional sport is it not? I guarantee you if Pombo thought he was running 0.4 seconds out of third on the last lap he would have passed the car ahead to get on the podium! This just sucks really bad!!

That stinks.

Very respectable! Sadly the bad luck gremlin raised its ugly head on the last lap once again for Mat Pombo! His off season nickname will be "last lap Pombo"! Rotten luck, but very respectable.....true fighters they were indeed!
Yeah, yeah, I know. This is not a picture of a racing MINI. I happened to be in the mall in Danville, VA today and saw this vintage picture of VIR on the wall. Great picture, but whoever captioned it obviously didn't know the difference between a Cobra and a Chaparral. I imagine Jim Hall and Carroll Shelby are hanging out somewhere and getting a laugh out of it.
