Anyone pay below MSRP?

Hi, I am thinking of buying a mcs.
I heard that the dealer does not negoiate, and firm on MSRP.

Is it true? I'm in around Boston area, so it will be Mini of Herb Camber in Boston or Peabody.

Thanks.

I am from vermont our closest dealer is keeler mini in albany ny. I also shopped the boston area stores because I am in boston more frequently. all I will say is keeler worked very hard and earned my business. a very good deal. herb chambers never even followed up with me after getting there price. if they don't follow up before the sale how do you think they will take care of you after they have taken your money.

Buying from another state is no big deal. I live in KY and purchased my MINI from Cincinnati, MINI in OHIO. If they are good, they will not charge the state sales tax, that way one can pay the tax in your home state . This way you can get your new plate and apply for the title and registration at the same time. If they charge you the tax then you must wait for the dealer to apply recieve then mail your title to you , then go to DMV to get your registration and plate .

I have purchased several cars out of state, knowing how they will treat you prior to purchase is great.

I paid 5% under MSRP. Bought from Mini of the Hamptons.

Good luck.

$800 below MSRP at Mini of Manhattan. They were firm about MSRP at first until I shopped around at Morristown Mini and Prestige in NJ. In retrospect, I wish I had gotten it at Morristown after dealing with the service at Mini of Manhattan. Next time, when I get my JCW MSC.

That's good to know about Keeler. Was that on a car you ordered? Or did they find you an 07 somewhere? I'm heading there on monday to see what they can do for me...If not I plan on shopping around. I don't mind driving a couple hours for a better deal, assuming it's enough to make up the difference in gas driving there lol.

Just bought an '07 from Keeler, actually it is our second Mini this year. My wife bought a laser blue convertible this summer. We were actually out looking at beemers, when we saw the mini's, she fell in love with the rag top. Keeler is hands down the best dealer I have dealt with in 30 years. The wife's mini was a blast, but I couldn't get any time with it. So we went back last week to look for a R56. They cut some slack on demos, but either way if our experiences with the dealer and service department follow the same trend, it would be worth paying extra to do business with them. Everyone in Keeler is a pleasure to deal with, happy, easy to talk to, helpful. My wife won't go anywhere else.

I will not go back to Herb Camber MINI at Boston again after all the hazels to get my factory ordered 07' MCS. One advice to everyone that the bussiness manager gave me 7.99% APR loan for 60 mo. Few days later I showed them my E-Loan check with 5.99% and then they matched to my E-Loan interest with their preferred financial institutes. Shop around and ignor their sweet talks.

There are lots of good deals if you buy used from a private owner.

I shopped around to all the dealerships in the NJ/NYC area dealers. I dont like to haggle. I gave a dealership a fair price and some told me that Mini's usually dont sell below MSRP but that is a load of crock!!! Prestige gave it to me for my fair price. Jim, I hope you you dont mind me trash talking about Manhattan Mini... THey SUCK. I find the practice of a one time offer to be unethical and disgusting. They told me they would take $700 off the MSRP but i would have to buy it right now. As soon as they said that, I walked away. Thanks for Jim for the service and my MINI.

Peabody Mini= Thumbs Up!

I bought my Mini used from a used car dealer up here in Manchester, NH. About a month into having it, my tranny went, its only 5 years old, and only 40k on it. While the place I bought it from was giving me the run around (they paid for a new tranny) I emailed the Service Dept at Mini Peabody, and asked them information about the transmissions and parts. The service team down there was AMAZING just over the email. I wasn't buying anything from them, but yet they took the time to help me with anything I needed. It was great. Next year, when I go to buy a newer one, I'm going down there to get it. It'll be a 2 hour drive, plus the sales tax, but I'm willing to pay it to go through them. I would at least reccommend using them to service your Mini if you're in the area. The garage I took my car to ended up buying the transmission from Mini Peabody.

If there is anyone on here from Mini of Peabody, THANKS SOO MUCH!
