Anyone that has Integral audio sub step in please :)

Today had my GP out and it was close to 90 degrees, had the sub cut out about 4-5 times for about 5 mins each time. anyone have this happen? My setup is not that old(put in last fall) and the Amp is HOT! anyone else?

my Arc amp seems to get pretty warm too, but haven't had it long enough to encounter issues. maybe you have your gains set too high, causing the amp to push itself too much? on mine, I lowered my sub channel gains way down, almost to minimum, instead of around 80% like suggested. also, is your remote **** set to max? ideally, I'd like to keep my remote **** near 50% for the majority of listening so I have some leeway to adjust for various music styles.

Pete,

If it is an overheat shutdown the amp power led will flash a red code (a series of long/short flashes). Check to see if you are getting an error code, and if so let me know what it is.

Gain levels will not actually affect the heat generated by the amp, only total output level. Unless you are driving the amp beyond capacity on an extremely hot day, you should not see a thermal shutdown. It's possible your problem lies somewhere else.

Email me directly with what you find (I know you bought the system used, that's not an issue - always happy to help with any of our products regardless of whether you were the original purchaser).

I will say it WAS HOT! i couldnt touch it longer than a split second(this was on the silver oval)

That's too hot. All the same, check/confirm the error code and email or call me. We'll get you straight.

i had a feeling Kevin would be able to help you with this one. and i learned something as well (that gain levels shouldn't affect the heat generated by an amp), so win win.

I've had mine shut off a couple of times - but always when driving it -hard-. Don't recall that it took more than a few seconds to cycle back on though. (and I've done the same to my other mini-amps from RF)

That said, the arc amp aways seems to run a bit on the hot side to me, and I still haven't put the side panels back on.....
