I have the base stereo. Non HK , no NAV and was wondering if my car is equipped with an AMP or not.

sweet thats great news. I guess I have a question #2 now. Are there any factory amps that will fit in the HK amp location?

 

Factory? Nope. HK is the only one (though there is the completely different DSP system.) HK wiring is completely different as well, with all the wiring going from the amp to the speakers. Plenty of people have added aftermarket amps, though.

 

Oops I meant to ask if there are any Aftermarket Amps that fit In the factory amp location.

Anyhow I have so far installed an excellon x997 radio and Polk db 6.5 components. The sound is already much much better over stock. I eventually want to change my rear speakers and install an amplifier and maybe a small 10" box on the rear side.

Any recommendations on rear speakers to compliment my setup and an amp?

 

so if i use hk speakers would they work on my r53 w/o an amp? got a deal for 4 hk speakers for 35 bucks.

 

The Impedance of the HK speakers are incompatible with most amps....
They are cheap cause they are paperweights unless you have a HK system...
