Amplifier Mount in Boot - How did you do it?

I've finally got my amplifier and I'm looking to see how others have mounted their amps in the boot. A lot of the final install photos have been posted here so I wanted to go down another level to see how the amps are secured in place.

My goals are to maintain as much storage space as possible (while protecting the amp when stuff is loaded) and to inflict the least amount of damage to the car. At this point, its function over form, so beauty panels will have to wait.

TIA.

What amplifier do you have? In this case size does matter, the smaller the better. Check out my gallery pics.

Helix B2 Precision.

1.4" H x 9.4" W x 11.8" L

I don't think it will fit in the sidepanels, from the start I have intended to mount it on the boot floor.

yeah im afraid thats too big...too long. my pioneer is 8-7/8"L x 7-7/8"W x 2-1/4"H and my genesis is 7-1/2"L x 10-1/4"W x 2-1/2"H and they both barely fit and still have enough room to change any blown out taillights. the boot floor is a good place or maybe underneath a seat since the amp is 1.4" thin.

The B2 should fit handily under the drivers seat.... Nice little amp BTW

Thanks, Don.

That is an appealing idea, but I'll have to make myself a list of pros and cons to see if thats the way I want to go. Unfortunately, its a purty amp and I may not want to hide it under the seat.

I had mine hidden in the storage things in the trunk, it was such a pain to adjust the gains and generally make any changes. when i got my new MTX box i just mounted the amp to the side of it ill probably do the same when i get the 4 channel for the speaker

The Boot is better.

When I was running wires under the seat and under the foam it was wet. Lots of people put amps under seats. Too wet IMHO.

I made an aluminum plate that hooks over the edge of the lip in the opening to the right side cubby thing. It screws into a bracket I made near the top and is very solid and rattle free. My amp bolts to that. Good air circulation, easy to get at if needed. AND you can still change light bulbs.

I like this idea. I don't need stealth at the moment, function is the key. If my amp does fit in that location, I would have to be careful putting stuff back there.
