Navigation & Audio MINI Cooper wall thread, version 2
pics sorta make it look bad, yes theres a little gap at the top, but the flash makes it show alot more than it really does. its the best i could get it!
the drywall screws will be replaced with screws with nicer heads on them tomorow, i just put those in now to hold it so the glue will dry. i really didnt want any glue at all. and i had to have the wood 2 pieces, thats why you see that seam, again the flash shows it more than it is. once all the amps are in there, you wont really see any of the imperfections, although there isnt many.
this was the 2nd time covering the trim panel...attempt 1 failed. LOL.

you like the vinyl material? im thinking of getting some black leather piping, the kind you would use around the edges of a seat in a car, and glue it around the whole edge of the trim panel, just to cover those slight gaps...things like that bother me, but its not worth redoing the panel by any means.
these pics do it more justice. i replaced the screws with some nicer ones, not exactly what i wanted, but theyre black, and look better than a drywall screw, so they're fine. once the amps and everything is in, it wont be as noticeable.
also got some black leather piping, like the kind you sew into the edges of a seats upholstery. gonna run that around the boarder of my trim panel, to cover the few gaps that i do have.
what you guys think?
the piping, i got 10 yards, it was only .30 cents a yard lol

If you do a stripe in matte black like the MINI above, you should do the black suede/alcantra in the same stripe pattern down the middle of your sub wall (in the hatch). You'd have vinyl, your stripe pattern, then vinyl. Am I making any sense?
that is cool, i cant do that in the rear though, or ill have to recover what i just covered...
actually, i dont. i just had a great idea, thanks for that idea man, its going to happen now!
suede stripes down the center of the vinyl piece i just covered. in the front the walls gonna be suede, so ill do vinyl stripes.
hell i might do vinyl, with suede stripes up front too.

i like this much better.
ETA of the finished install, i dont know, im trying to get it done as fast as i can, but without rushing, i dont want it to look like i rushed it. im doing every ounce of work myself.
