My n95 (N/A) seems to work perfectly until there is a total of 20 mins of calls done, then the car seems to drop the bluetooth connection, even though it says its still connected on both the car and the phone. Only solution seems to be to restart the phone. Anyone having this? I've got a 2009 clubman. Found something similar on mini2 (http://www.mini2.com/forum/second-ge...-option-2.html). Solutions?!?

Anyone paired the Verizon Moto Droid or HTC Eris (aka Hero for Sprint) yet? I'm looking at those android phones longingly these days.

Has anyone had any luck (either way) with the Samsung Trance or Intensity for Verizon in a second gen? Samsungs seem a bit hit or miss

I paired the motor Droid with no problem. I haven't tried to voice dial yet - will let you know.

Just got the Samsung Trance and it paired pretty easy (phonebook etc) and seem to work fine. I will have to try out the voice dialing today.

Just found someone mentioning the Alias 2 in another thread, not particularly specific, but looks like good news!

Samsung Gleam a no go...

Just got a 2010 Clubman, and my existing Samsung Gleam (SCHU 700 is the model, I believe) freaks out when paired. The pairing goes okay, but once paired the phone goes into continuous reboots. Won't stop until unpaired.

My wife's LG Chocolate 3 works perfectly (as indicated on the spreadsheet).

Just reporting. Looking into a Samsung Trance. or a Chocolate if they're still around.

Jay

Thanks Jay, sorry about the Gleam- I took a quick look around, but didn't find anything that could be helpful, appreciate the feedback!

I asked on a Droid forum and was told voice dialing didn't work, but I don't think they were Minis.
EDIT: There's a thread on this forum and several Droid owners say everything works peachy keen.

Yes. Just got my Eris yesterday (luv it!!!) and it pairs, address book downloads (I hate LG) and calling works great. Sound quality is very good.

Have not tested voice dialing. I don't use it.

HTC (T-mobile MyTouch)

Has anyone had the chance to test the Mytouch yet? I saw a post in august asking the same question, but no answer. I also do not show it on the compatibility list. Thanks.

How about the HTC Hero or the Palm Pixi? Does anyone know if these work?

Speaking of Palm, I know the Pre is on the MINI approved list, but I also know it doesn't have voice dial. Does anyone know if the MINI bluetooth voice dial works with it?

The HTC Hero and Eris are pretty much the same phone. My eris works so I expect the hero will.

However that being said, I am running into one problem: The blue tooth disconnects on its own. I get a message on the mini to put the phone in pairing mode. If I turn the blue tooth off and then on on the phone it will reconnect. It is very weird as it connects fine when I start the car. It usually is ok after that.

I called verizon and they suggested a soft reset and if that doesn't work a master one which means recreating everything on my phone. I am hoping the soft reset will work.

Has mini every updated the firmware in the car for their bluetooth? I haven't tried calling them yet

FYI never had this problem with my motor-la Razr.

In the past, similar problems have been the phone's powersaving turning the Bluetooth radio off, if it always seems to happen after a certain time has passed, that could be it. Usually there's a checkbox to make this not happen if the phone does it by default.

As far as anyone here knows, not yet. There's VIN specific firmware updates, but we don't have any way of knowing if them effect Bluetooth or not.

Thanks. I will look into that but I don't recall seeing that option. Great if it was that simple.

Well I just got my first service so I would assume that they updated any firmware but I will give them a buzz and check.

The only important test remaining is to see what battery life is like with and without bluetooth. I was spoiled by a Samsung Sync that didn't seem to eat the battery any quicker when I left bluetooth on 24/7. I know that's not true for most phones.

I've almost given up hope of attatching any phone to the external antenna.

The C905A has an 8.1 MP camera with flash.
I am glad your C905a works well with you MINI. This is a terrific phone and I really like using it. But I have another story to tell.

I recently installed the Mini Bluetooth Retrofit kit (posted on Motoringfile recently: http://www.motoringfile.com/2009/10/...-retrofit-kit/) on my '09 Clubman S from MINI of Concord. This is the one that costs about $700 msrp (not including labor), and it integrates really nicely with the NAV system.

The sad thing is, I have not been able to successfully use my SE C905a with it. The phone pairs successfully with the car, and the MINI was able to download my address book. However, when I attempt to make a call or receive a call from the handsfree in the car, I cannot hear the caller's voice through the handsfree speaker, nor can the caller hear me speak (well he could hear muffled conversation, but that's because the phone was in my pocket and my voice was going through the mic in the phone).

I looked up the Product Information Bluetooth PDF (http://www.mini.com/_shared_files/bl..._Bluetooth.pdf) on MINI's website and the SE C905 is on the list. However, the tested mobile phone software version is R1BA034. My phone, since I bought it recently, is at level R1BB026. The strange thing is, I was able to successfully pair and call from this phone in my husband's BMW '08 3-series, which has an almost identical system. I was also able to pair the phone and call with the 1-series loaner that MINI of Concord gave me while they were installing the retrofit kit. So I'm scratching my head and wondering if it's a software problem with the retrofit kit or if it's a problem with my phone. Oh, and I also tried pairing two other cell phones (SE W580i and AT&T Quickfire) with my Clubman and they both work (can call and receive calls).

To make a long story short (or longer), I will be bringing it back to MINI so they can do some tests with my phone. I hope they can straighten this out because I can't upgrade to another cell phone for another 20 months (unless I buy an unlocked phone).
