FYI - I've been told from others that the sound quality is good when I'm using the Bluetooth, and I haven't moved my mic yet.

I was able to pair my wife's SGH-A877. It transfered the address book and would voice dial. It's an AT&T phone.

It's only the third phone I've paired, but it wasn't as intuitive as the other two. It took me several attempts.

LG Dare

My wife's LG Dare works perfectly with the bluetooth in our 2009 jcw clubman. It also downloads the phone book.

Thanks for the update! Would you mind checking which version of firmware your phone has? That could account for the differences. I've changed it to conflicting reports for the moment.

Thanks! If it's working, there's a pretty good chance that you have a Dare with the older version of the firmware- newer versions stopped transferring the addressbook, but if you wouldn't mind checking which version you have that would be good to know!

Ok so whats the deal here? The AT&T "Impression" is the SGH-A877. does it work or not? My wife bought the LG CF360 and it would not download the address book, so we are looking at phones again We were also told the LG "Xenon" would be compatible also, does anybody know? It would be nice in this thread if everyone would state which service they are using, AT&T, Verison, Sprint.....ect.

Compatibility can change from one firmware revision to another, even within the same carrier. Luckily, these are few and far between, so it's much easier to maintain a list by phone type and note compatibility differences within models on a case by case basis.

It's a behemoth, but the spreadsheet linked in my sig is probably the easiest way to check the status of a phone. Ctrl+F is your friend.

The SGH-A77 has conflicting reports here, as you've noted- it could be user error, hardware/software problems specific to one person's phone or car, a different firmware version, radio interference, etc, etc...

All we can do is keep track and watch for trends.

The Xenon GR500 should be compatible (it's in the spreadsheet also ) but please note that it's an uncommon one to be reported and some LG phones have a trend of breaking compatibility with firmware updates, so please take it with the requisite YMMV/grain of salt/passivism of your choice.

The A877 Impression from AT&T that I successfully paired is using software version A877UCID3. I really doubt, since it's a new phone just last month, as was the phone that didn't pair for another member, that this is the problem. My car is a 2007.

It's a little hard to explain, but this phone seemed harder to pair than the others that I've done. Other times I've felt I was being led through the process, versus this time I had to force it through. At the point in the pairing that normally both devices ask for a matching code, neither did. I entered a code into one of them (forget which) and only then did the other one prompt me to enter the same code.

Gottcha, it seems like everytime we try and pair a phone it's different everytime For now my wife just took over my sons old Razor and it paired up just fine. He took her new phone and since the Razor is up for renewal we will take our time picking out a new phone for her

Verizon is supposedly releasing the Blackberry Storm 2 tomorrow that will be the first BB with the official version 5.xx OS on it. The beta versions of 5.xx have been around for months but we'll soon see how the new Storm2 pairs with the Mini.

Verizon is also launching their Droid smart phone today (the Verizon/Google/Moto answer to the iPhone.) I noticed on the feature list was that it was "fully Bluetooth compatable with phonebook syncing." That sounds promising.

Chances are the HTC Touch Pro2 is a good match, since it runs Windows Mobile 6.1. So far all the WM6 phones have had a great track record.

Any news on the Storm2 or the Droid? I'm ready for an upgrade, but I'm torn between these two phones. I need a deal-breaker for one of them!

I should add that my Blackberry Storm1 has continued to function very well with the MINI bluetooth after upgrading the device to Ver. 5.0.0.328. I recently noticed the MINI saves the info on missed calls while I'm on another call. I don't know if this is new, or I just never noticed it before.

Thanks Rich! I added the v5 OS to the list too- not sure about the missed call waiting calls being listed for mine. I don't think I've ever not taken the call

Droid

The Motorola Droid works. The address book syncs and voice dialing works.

Unlike my last phone it even keeps the mobile/home/work label for the phone numbers in the mini address book. I always thought it was an issue with the mini, but now realize it was just my phone.

Blackberry Storm2 Pairs Up Fine

Ok, I made the jump from the Blackberry Storm1 to Storm2. The Storm2 paired right up to the MINI and transferred the phone book. No problems. The OS on the Storm2 is version is 5.0.0.320.

Alias 2

Does anyone know if the Samsung Alias 2 (SCH-U750) work? I know the old one did.
