Yesterday, I mapped the rally instructions from ATL to Knoxville to get an idea of the route and timing. Then, out of curiosity, I changed part of the route to take the Dragon rather than going through the Smoky Mountains

Alternate route via Dragon 4 hrs 45 min


Hmmm...anyone up for a Dragon run????

I know that some people from Florida are planning on tacking the Dragon route as well. I have a funny feeling there will be quite a few MINI's on the Dragon on Sunday!

It seems a shame for that many MINIs to be driving by the Dragon and not go over it. Sounds like what I need to do!

 

I was planning on it too. I couldnt figure out why Mini didnt run us through there. COUNT ME IN! (can we do it more than once?)

Its a really cool thought to know that I will be doing the Dragon AND the Western Dragon in the same trip!

 

Is the dragon completely open now? I know it wasn't when I was at MOTD but had no need to keep up with its status since then.

I would suggest that you add Wayah Rd ( Left on 64 @ Franklin NC right on Wayah) to the route, then you can take a left on 129/64 and a right on 129 to Robbinsville.

I would dread the traffic in GSMNP.
