Hi all, I was looking at limerock (lakeville CT) events this summer and I was hoping to get a nice MINI crowd for either the memorial day race or the American Le Mans toward the end of July. Just trying to get a feeler out there to see if anyone would be interested in meeting up beforehand and I'm sure the parking staff would even give us a mini MINI lot to ourselves

Let me know if you're interested and feel free to suggest meeting places. I'm about 45 minutes east of the track in CT but I'd be willing to drive anywhere to have a little parade to the track.

 

You may want to post this on http://nemini.org for exposure to a more focused audience. There is an annual MINI extravaganza at Lime Rock's Vintage Festival on the Monday of Labor Day weekend.

 

Is this the Mini event that used to be sponsored by Mini USA then sponsored by Mini of Manhattan? I heard something like 60 Minis doingparade laps in LRP etc.

I made the 3 hr drive from my house last year for the Labor Day weekend Vintage Festival.
An amazing day. Mini of Manhattan organized a corral and I met a bunch of folks there.
Can't remember how many showed up. 20 or 30?? They had arranged a parade lap for us which was cool.
The vintage races were great to watch. Those are the truly crazy: people that own cars like an Aston Martin DB6, and RACE THEM.

I have been on the Limerock site and they are definitely doing a Mini Corral again. But for some reason tickets are not on sale for that particular corral yet. I may call tomorrow to see whats up. If I find out anything I'll post it. But corral or not, I'll be there again.

 

I'll be there again this year, probably with the classic Mini.

I do not own a MINI (yet) because I am almost 16, but I really want to see a Mini race!! I am an enthusiast to the extreme, but finding event dates and places to buy tickets is harder than I thought! I live in CT, so anything nearby or at least in surrounding states would be great! Does Limerock ever hold an entire day of mini races or something? Thanks

A number of us run LRP DEs. You can come by and watch as we run Minis with the big boys. If you are old enough may be able to give you a ride on the track.

 

You should plan on attending the Vintage Festival at Lime Rock in Lakeville, CT, which is always over the Labor Day weekend. We had over 100 MINI's on the track for parade laps, and there were a couple of classics entered in the actual races in the afternoon. There is a big MINI tent with food and swag along with a special parking corral for all of us MINIacs. Sign up with www.nemini.org, and follow the threads there. Hope to see you at and on the track. I believe you'd need a drivers license for us to take you along as a passenger during a driver's education day.
