This car was originally purchased from a dealer in Montana then relocated to northern Virginia, where I purchased it from the second owner in 2012, showing 35,500 on the odometer. Previous owner stated that car had never been raced, track driven, or driven continuously at redline, and the same is still true. It has never been driven through flood water and has been stored in a parking garage in downtown Charleston during my ownership, garage stored by previous owner.
This car is mechanically outstanding and has been carefully maintained during my ownership with work performed by Mini of Charleston. Recent mechanical work includes a new power steering motor and fan unit; the car also recently received an anti-rattle treatment and an exterior finish restoration which included new hood stripes and clear bra. Just performed yearly maintenance including a new battery at Mini of Charleston.
The ‘05 JCW spec included engine mods, brakes, wheels, exhaust, dual-stage clutch, body fairing, interior bits and badges. The previous owner invested in smart aftermarket upgrades which improved the car without sacrificing stock aesthetics. This included a Forge intercooler, Bilstein coil-overs, sway bars and carbon fiber shock tower stiffeners. Other goodies include interior factory leather, Harmon Kardon stereo, auto dimming rear view, rally lights, Shift Machine JCW shift ****, matching stainless e-brake handle, and rubber floor mats. Stereo amp is non-functional and requires replacement.
Car is mechanically outstanding and dealership staff can account for current condition. The only known issues with this car are aesthetic. There is a ding in the driver side front corner which needs repair to the hood, and a very small dimple in the driver side rear body panel next to the gas cap—both are shown in the photos and could be a paint-less repair by a skilled body professional. The bumpers have a few minor dings and scuffs and the top weather strip shows some age. On the interior, the center console armrest could use replacement or delete back to factory cup holder. Front chrome grill cover is loose and needs Re attachment or replacement. Minor annoyances: Glove box rattles; rear passenger side shock tower brace attachment rattles. In current condition, it won’t win a show, but overall, it’s in better shape than 99% of the ‘05’s on the road.
Serious inquiries only please. I’m not willing to arrange shipping, future owner will need to purchase from me here in Charleston, SC. Please reply for VIN number if you’d like to run a Carfax; can also contact local dealership for records.
Beautiful R53! If this is still available in a month or two I will be hitting you up and flying down there to take a look. I doubt very much it will still be available though!

Can you please send me A couple pics of the engine? Thanks Andrew Curtis
I’m still very much interested and will be flying down to Charleston in a month. Could you PM me so that we can have a conversation about the car over email or phone? Thanks!
