Hello everyone! I sent in my request to become a member on Saturday. Look forward to meeting you soon! I just purchased my Mini last month. Her name is The Duchess. The name comes from the British drama series EastEnders. It's what a character Alfie Moon would call his lady publican. My husband and I are both named Mel, so that should make it easy to remember us. My husband is from Bournemouth, England, but spent about 20 years living around London. The last pace he lived in the UK was in Harrow. I've lived in NC for 20 years and I'm a transplant from New Orleans, LA.

Looking forward to becoming an official member. Cheers to the person who tagged me. It was my first!

Yeah, I'm out and about more often these days. I come up with excuses just so I can go for a drive. My latest is forgetting things on my shopping list so have to go back to the store and I never take the short way home. Sound familiar? There is another Laser Blue S in this area as well. Mine has the Union Jack on top. Just had it redone. Before it was just on the sunroof. Now it's the entire roof. I'll be at the British Car Day and I'll check out your Calendar!!!

Yeah! Looking forward to receiving the membership packet. I keep begging HeMel to drive my car, but he doesn't drive stick! Moving here from the UK, he's only been driving six years. No need for a car in London. Eventually I'll get him to drive it, but he is enjoying it regardless. We both have the fever!

Welcome, I am in New Hampshire staying at the Bartlett Inn Bed & Breakfast and the owners Nick and Miraim. Nick is from London and his wife is from here. She was a stew for British Airways. This Mini rally had 221 last year not sure how many will show up this weekend. If ya miss the Eastenders its on sunday night pbs channel 13 at 11pm followed by Are You Being Served. Were probably a year or more behind from England. Alfie is just hooking up with Cat. Phil is being investigated for the murder of mob boss. Go England and USA footballers.

 

Oh by the way, nice pic of the Queen Vic. Nick's daughter who lives in London says there going to burn it down and build a new pub there. I guess they don't have historical societys over there. Hope to meet you kids on the Blue Ridge or next Meet N Eat. Got to go scare some Moose!

 

Hey! Nice to meet you. I'm the President of the Charlotte EastEnders Fan Club. There are 3 fan clubs in North Carolina. I assisted the BBC last year with their 80 Days Around the World event for the Children In Need Charity. The last leg of the trip hit North Carolina and our clubs in NC met Shane Richie (Alfie Moon) and Josie Lawrence (a future character for us US fans) and were filmed for the show. My MINI's name, Duchess, was coined by Alfie Moon. It's what he would call lady publican, Peggy Mitchell. The Queen Victoria in the show is just a set. It's not an actual pub. The inside of it is in an inside set. I know, kinda disappointing, but that's the way it is. They have been talking about taking down the set at Elstree Studios because it doesn't look good in HD. Not sure when that will happen. We are at least 5 years behind the UK now. Every year we pull further away! ( Our club will have a meeting in a few months. Let me know if you want an invite!
