What I like about these is they are all different (the decals). The 1:24 tuners are all the same except the paint color.

 

I received three of the Kentoys 1:55 tuners today from the UK. These came from ebay. They are very cool! They come in a nice box with a little trading card in the back. A button is rigged on the bottom of the box so you can activate the lights. The headlights light up and a light comes on in the back seat area to show off the stereo equipment in there. Take a look:







Now I need the blue, silver and pink ones to complete the set.

Mike: I got some extrea Polizei and Fuerwehr sets/models tonight...mostly the single cars. Will PM details. I could really go nuts w/ police/fire models from SIKU if you want them...tons and tons of 'em out there. They run the gamut from the 3 Euro little models to sets for ~ 30 Euro.

Also some relatively cheap Fast Lane 3 packs or Polizei and Fuerwehr models for ~ 7 or 8 Euro if you want them.

These 1:24 Extreme Tuners came in the mail today from an eBay seller. These are the ones made by Boley and they are loose, without a box. The one advertised as pink is really more of a frosted orange color. Fog, interior and undercarriage lights activate when you push the button on the bottom.

 

Since I plan to liberate all my boxed MINIs, I'll pass on that 1:87 set Rob. It looks better in the box. But thanks for thinking of me! One of the firefighter Sikus would be good, or Happy Digits.

I have an update on the 1:55 Kentoys MINI Coopers. My friend in London has found a site that has 5 of the tuner models. The pink is not represented here but I will go into more detail on that one in just a minute. Nogbor's is the name of the company that is selling the MINI's and will ship to the US. Cost per car including shipping is about $10 US per car. My London buddy worked on different shipping scenarios but couldn't come up with one that would save us a lot of cash.

Where are they ? I've been building up my collection for about six months now and primarily shop on E-Bay. I've yet to run across a R53 model MINI Cooper (or "S") in Pepper White. I'm specifically looking for one in 1:18 scale.

Anyone know where I can find one and why they seem to be in such short supply ?

 

I'm looking for a pepper white die cast too - only 1:64 scale tho. I need it to mount on a trophy... I thought the MB Superfast would be perfect, I could swear they made that in PW... Anyone?

 

I have a friend who will stationed in Jolly old England in a few months...if they're still available we can have him look. Alternately I might make a trip in the Spring myself...

Also, for anyone else out there... anyone know of a model car company that will custom make a MINI Cooper ? You know... one that looks identical to your own, complete with boot stripes, checkered mirrors, and all that stuff ?

 

Oops sorry I guess I didn't make it clear that "Forever Young" products are put together in my DEN! I use an existing model and repaint and finish. I have a 1/18th scale diecast in pieces down there right now but I can't decide what color to finish it.

 

I have been trying to find a 1:18 of a LY Cooper Cabrio and had considered trying to do a take-apart and paint. But since I stink at modeling I decided against it. Do you do custom orders? If I wanted a 1:18 of MINIBee, euro plate and all, can you do that?

 

Today I liberated all my MINIs. I took a photo of each one in the box first, then took them out and took the boxes to the trash. I plan to put information in the IPTC header of each jpeg photo so I will know where each piece came from. The photo of the box or package is good enough for me! It's so nice to pick them up and look at the features and details of each one. My favorites so far are the 1:18 Hot Wheels LY checkerboard and the 1:18 Maisto Solid Gold with sunroof. I still do not have a LY Cooper Cabrio (My MINI)! I hope to find a 1:18 of that some day.

Two of the MINIs are plastic...the EB/B is Nikko Evolution RC. It came with two different gear sets (regular and sprint) and two sets of tires/wheels. Lots of fun on the laminate floors in my house. The Dickie Polizei is also plastic (but very nice). Everything else is die-cast.

One more thing...I wouldn't have a lot of the MINIs in this photo if it weren't for the kindness and generosity of the folks in this forum. So thanks!

LOL! That's why I usually get two of each (at least with the 1:64), so I can have a set to display and play with. The others go into storage. I don't think they'll gain any real value. It's more of the collector mentality in me.

 

Wouldn't be a problem as long as I could get a hold of a convertible model to work from -- I don't think I've seen one yet. I'll do some checking.

Congrats! The first of any new model/toy I get is immediately opened so I can play with it and put it into my display case. The second one I find is kept in storage in mint condition so that I can have it for trading with others who must have the perfect boxes.

 

Would any of you be interested in meeting up sometime at the Dragon this May to trade some of our toys? I've got a couple boxes of assorted MINI toys and would love to get some of us together and see if we can fill out the holes in each other's collections. . . .
