I'm a member also, to an extent. I have some that are worth a LOT more money in original package than out of them, so it depends on what it is. whenever my son decides to finally move out ALL the way we will set up his room as our display room / office and I will post pic then. most of my collection is packed away for now.

I find that it's easier to display the HW/MB/JLs if they stay in the package, ince they can hang on the wall. I have plenty of Minis and MINIs that are out of the box (4 in packages and 4 out in my office at work) and am running out of display space at home for toy cars.

Glad to see some of you let your MINIs breathe too. And for those that don't, that's cool too. I totally understand.

Found something cool at a local shop today. Cararama 1:72 Pepsi MINI in a collector tin:

It was just loose with the tin, but it looks like it originally came in this package:

It's a series of 12 different cars and the MINI is #6. Look HERE to see them all.

What kind of store carries these? I have a 3 day weekend and can haunt the toyshops if I know where to look.

It was a hobby store. The owner said he got it from a source in the UK and he only had one. He said he can get just about anything from there so I can ask him if he can get some more.

Well I figured for the people who don't live in Tampa Bay it wouldn't matter, but for you it does. It's House of Hobbies on U.S. 19 in Palm Harbor. The guy has more 1:18 diecast in stock than I have ever seen in one place. He had several Classic Minis and a few MINIs (mostly AutoArt) but no exciting color combinations and no cabrios.

He did have some other 1:72 Cararamas and the Italian Job Corgi Classic Mini set. He said he had a lot of MINIs before Christmas but since he's right down the road from Ferman MINI he sees a lot of MINI people and was picked over.

I asked about new stock and he said he has connections with all the main manufacturers and can pretty much get whatever you want. If there were more of those Pepsi MINIs I would have bought a bunch for you guys. He only had one but I'm guessing he can get more.

Hi MINI BEE,

I wonder if your hobby shop guy would be able to get the Kentoy MINI Tuners?

Nice find, Jack. And what a great link!! Plenty of very cool classic Minis.

I made a find of my own yesterday at a local hobby shop:

I'm still not sure if I want to open it up and try it out, or leave it in the box for display! I'm afraid I'll get it open and the whole thing will be white plastic. All of the directions on the edges of the box are in Japanese, so I can't tell if the body is pre-painted or not.

I have the same model kit. The body is white (or off white). There is 2 part racks the size of the box, 1 white and 1 black. There are 2 smaller racks, 2 chrome and 2 clear. Add 4 rubber tires and a small set of transfers (license plates etc) and an instruction sheet and you're done.

i have continued to try and find a source for the 1:55 scale Extreme Tuners. Today I received an email reply from someone at Kentoys, the manufacturer of those MINIs. Apparently there was a licensing problem with MINI and those models have been yanked from the market and discontinued. They are still showing up on ebay coming out of the UK, so if you want them I would act fast. They could end up being pretty rare.

Many of the ebay dealers are selling them from drop ship houses and do not actually have them on hand. Then when they go to fill the order they find out the drop ship houses no longer have them. I was able to find one ebay seller who actually had them so I have red, black and yellow ones coming. The other colors were blue, silver and pink.

He has an ebay store and still has some left:

Hi, new to Mini and this thread. Only have a half a dozen or so model Mini's. Thanks for the score advice on Dollar general. When I get a few more duplicates I would like to repaint and/or detail some of the models. Some of the decals used to come off the Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars pretty easy with fingernail polish remover. All of my models are set free so as I can touch 'em. I enjoy this reading this thread and will be a casual collector at most.

MINI_Bee, you didn't kill the thread. I have been waiting on a package to arrive with several new additions to my collection. It arrived today and I just couldn't wait to open it.

WTF??????????????

I had ordered 10 cars (SIKU and Schuco), 7 of them MINIs. Inside the box were 3 cars-none of them the MINIs I had ordered. Every MINI I had ordered had become "Out of Stock-No Longer Available" from the time I ordered them until my order was filled.

(Okay, which one of you collectors took my cars? )

On the plus side, I did get some neat SmartCars, but I was REALLY looking forward to the MINIs.

PS MINI_Bee, I got one of the New Ray IR MINIs. Pretty cool! (My cats hate it, however. )

Whew! I was getting worried there! :impatient

Sorry you didn't get your MINIs. Was that order from the PeopleKars site? I went there last night and noticed the Happy Digits MINI and some others are now out of stock. I did see a nice Hongwell LY MINI with travel trailer though. Pretty cool.

Yeah that little infrared RC MINI is cool. Kinda James Bondish because of the watch (or maybe more like Austin Powers).

Yep, it was from PeopleKars. They were in stock when I ordered them, but I just wasn't quick enough.

There are a bunch of cool MINIs there.

Have you seen (or got) the CR/CR Matchbox MINI? We were at a friends house the other night and they had bought several MINIs for me, and one was the CR. I hadn't seen it before.

I found some of those at a local Wal Mart thanks to a tip from Snooter. I think I have an extra one. And I found some of the BRG/W Super Fast Limited Edition MB. I have two extra of those.

Interested in selling one of the BRG/W? I don't really have anything to swap (that you don't seem to have) right now.

Everyone give it up for BobbieJ! We did a 1 to 1 trade and when my box arrived it contained two extra LY MINIs I did not have. Nice! Rob has been very kind as well. You folks are great!

I have been finding some things here and there thanks to Snooter's tips so I have some spares. The MINIs below are available for trade or purchase (for what I paid). I didn't know if anyone would want the CR/W 1:43 Hot Zone MINIs but I bought three anyway. I've had my fill of the CR/W combo so if no one wants those I'll just take them back. The number you see is the number I have available of each MINI.
