ooh nice and clean. I think it looks good. Only thing I can think to add is maybe a little bit of burning on the right side of the cap and the same for the 212. They start to fade darker towards the right on the 212 but it's barely noticable, where the reflection shows them much darker. Try it, see what happends. But all around I think it's a pretty darn good shot.

Looks great man...deffinetly nice...it looks to me like some of the 3D renders...which is a good thing...cause it's nice, crisp and clean...

good stuff....I have always wanted to take my Mini into a studio...just to get this type of "perfect" shot...where it almost looks too good

You asked for a crit...

Excellent job, very nice lighting; but...
This shot is hard to do well without a view camera. The object is bulging at the top & upper left. The geometry is off, and you have limited means to correct it. Try using an angle finder to help square things up. A slightly longer lens will also diminish distortion without adding too much compression.

Maybe we can get a group to rent one at South Bay Studios. Just takes bucks!
---------------------------------------------------

I think the "bulge" is an optical illusion created by the cap's oval, along with the speculars and shadows.

Personally, I think it's a good shot. I like how you have the "CAROLINA HERRERA" placed up front like that. And I'm a fan of reflections!
Only 4-5 attempts? Dang! I think it would've taken me thrice that many.
So, care to share the setup with us?
Lens? Lighting? Etc.

cheers dude i really am still a novice but seem to point the camera in the right direction at times

the setup sheesh this really is back to the floor basics to a wholllllllllle different level hehehehe

ok ok you asked so il give it ya

it was done on the desk where i have my pc against my wall which is white/off-white

the reflections is (i assume what everyone uses) just a sheet of glass but not oh nooo not just any piece of glass hehe i removed this from one of the cabinets lol

Thought that was funny well .....i placed a black t-shirt underneath the glass

set the camera up on the tripod and closed the curtains in my room wiht little light just some coming from the window through cream curtains on the left

Sony Cybershot F717
Focal Length 26mm
F5
Exposure 30sec
ISO 100

Open the image in PS & drag some guides over it and you'll see what I mean.

Overall the image is a very worthy effort and indicates a keen eye for lighting & shading, but impeccable geometry is one of the key things that separate a good tabletop shot from an average one.

(I hope I'm not coming across as a crank, I'm just trying to be honest and helpful)

No artificial lights? That makes it more remarkable.
Think of what you can do with a couple of Dedolights.

i know will have to think of other setups too to practice a few other shots - water droplets that kinda thing.
I know there is still room to improve but still happy with how it came out
