Tonight was a perfect plan. Again, high cirrus clouds, but way west. Motored across town, into Prescott National Forest, up about 4 miles of awesome rally-ready dirt road to Sierra Prieta Overlook. It's 7000 feet, looking west across Skull Valley.
I couldn't decide which of 30 shots to post, narrowed down to these. Decisions, decisions.........

 

2 and 3 turned out really nicely. I like the way the lights on the MINI are so clearly defined.

 

Funny you point out clearly defined lights. #1 was after the partiers drove by, I intended the lights to glare. This shot (#4) has more car and lights.
But you're not much help, you still left two!

 

StegasorMINI fights back!
Tried a wide angle conversion lens from a video camera, taped onto the camera. Weak sunrise. Cones seemed like a funny addition.

My car went out of commission last night so today I was MINI-less. (I think it might be the clutch.) It's been miserable.

There isn't a "MINI with a sundog halo" thread, reason for non-sunset picture. After reading the link about halos, I still can't determine if this is a 18*(degree) parhelia, 22* parmelion, 46* halo, or what kind of sundog thing this is. Taken in about 5 seconds at a stop sign. Slightly enhanced with my very limited ability.

Yes, I do recognize that background. You're killing me with these great Colorado sunsets. Keep'em coming though.

 

"Downtown sunset". My camara is a very old digital so it's not a very sharp image but I like the shot.

New member HAL9000 gave me an idea...
Taken at my credit union in Prescott Valley. A bit tricky to add another dimension.:impatient And not thinking about the people in the restaurant watching this nut moving his car around, and running around taking pictures helped.

 

I agree. Also you might have cropped a bit off the top of the photo. The first thing I look at is the amazing expanse of the sky.

Thanks for posting. The Star Wars looking headlights are cool. The reflections are great. I think there's water in some of our so-called lakes. Will motor to one sometime.

 

Nice photos, some really good ones at the link too . I should head up to the loop more often, never realized how good it looks at sunset.
