I've heard that this is why in combo with heat of sun rasing smog and such. Fortunantly for me the weather played right into my hands, the first photo I posted if you look at the grill you can still see the dew on the grill, there was a gentle fog just north and south of me and the clouds were just right, and still not too many airliner contrials so there is a more natural look about it. I have many, more sunset photos, I usually take a buch right after I clean the car every week as the sun goes down, I am yet to like any of those b/c they all reflect too mouch of the local suburbia neighborhood and myself. I guess my point is it takes lots of practice, I took 200+ pictures this morning, as of now I still have only shared a handful. Sunrise/sunset are difficult b/c the light conditions are constantly changing making it hard to get that perfect light. Its harder but more rewarding, the same photographs 30min. later would have just been blah. But then its also been a looooonng time since I have been as relaxed as I was after taking pictures this morning. Good Luck

Hey motor on - where "on the motorway" do you live? I think I know where you took those pictures... pretty close to where I took these:

It's therapy for me. If it wasn't hard, everyone would be doing it!

Dave's Beach Pic

Whoah!

How'd you do that?
I mean, how'd you get the details on the car while keeping so much background detail with so much backlighting? Reflector, lighting?

I guess that's what made my jaw drop looking at that pic.

Hey, isn't a SoCal winter great or what!

I have a big reflector, but didn't use it for that one. No special tricks. Shot with the kit lens on a tripod.

Thanks for posting something new!
Do you wear dark clothing to avoid reflection of you, and camera?
My car isn't COOL like yours, so I always wait until it's darker.

I'm back!

blacknblue inspired me to try something for a different background. Yesterday I spotted this location, about 12 miles away from home, so I used my limited experience to predict this sunset (really, it's dumb luck).

I like how you captured the telephone lines in the picture. Did you use a filter in taking this picture?

I think from the image properties of the red x above that this is the image you may be trying to post, but I'm not sure.

Gotta love those reflections! They add to the feel of the images.
In Dave's, it's the lifeguard tower and setting sun. The tower adds to that sense of place, in this case, the beach. (Ahhh, SoCal!)

Pooch, I like those clouds reflecting off your door. In combination with the snow patches on the driveway acroos the street, those clouds say "winter." I only wish those other cars were not there- unless, of course, they were MINIs! Gotta watch when you shooting towards the sun (or any light source). There's a lot of glare there.
