A MINI amongst a sunset (new pic I took)
such wonderful skies...
Do you have the flash on? It seems that the front of the bumper is lit up by something. Since you have the tripod now, try to turn off the flash and see how it comes out. The MINI will come out darker, but it will really add to the atmosphere of the picture and allow the viewer to focus on the sky more.

...and again...
I'm twisting two threads, again.

This morning's sunrise was, okay.
This, believe it or not, is relevant to NAM.
Don't mind the dead tree, those Easterners are hogging ALL the snow!

I quick turned off the lights, also took a no-lights shot. If I ever learned how to make a signature, I thought flashing lights would be cool.
that gingerbread picture is awesome
sunset shots are hard when you have something in the foreground. I have a few decent ones but more often then not the car is too dark. What I've been learning to do is take 2 photos, one where the sky is perfect and the other where the car is perfect. Then I photoshop them together. like this

and here's an example where I failed at a good shot

I move around while I shoot, so couldn't take two. Today's sunrise worked about 180deg. around. Sometimes the flash in-fills okay, but I try without too.
I'm feeling like Mrs. Winchester, gotta do something every day!
...and another...
Almost didn't get up this morning because it didn't look like any clouds, but surprise!
[Edit] And tonight there were clouds, thought it would be great, but was a dud. Struck out (almost) twice today.

...but not yesterday!
But today the sunset was very nice. New location in a recent phase of another subdivision that doesn't have grandy-gross mansions built (yet). Turned on the hazard lights also.
No rest for the...
wicked!
This morning's sunrise. No hint of the moisture last night! Tried a dirt cheap technology to give a dreamy aire, threw dust (we have mounds of here) in front of the car just before squeezing the shutter. Too much makes auto-focus f-up.

That's an awesome sky.
I took this one from my window while driving so there's no MINI in the photo but it's a sunset photo none the less. Kurt you need to leave your shutter open longer you're not taking in enough light. Next time you're down this way I'll have to give you a quick lesson.
