But compared to everything you post... they suck!
Will be spending more time looking through the viewfinder than... well I hope not!

Okay, one more.

Dave, I know you're hoping I'll post my best shot for the Landscape theme here...and be disqualified.
Kurt: That purple classic photo turned out great. You did a good job with a tough situation (shooting cars parked in a row in a parking lot) and your post processing is nicely done too.

Just a general observation: I'm glad you had a chance to shoot MMW. You did some solid work with the photos from the event.
Richard: It looks like a huge pool.

Solid work... I was extremely biased in what I shot.
Had to make an effort to not hide behind the camera, and talk to some really pleasant people from far away.My only gripe was the lack of a sunset!

Hah thanks!
Well fortunately for me, I had just shot a video on how to wash a car and we used my MINI as the "victim".
So it was quite clean, considering I had driven around 150 miles to get to this location, it was a nice treat for my then dirty MINI!

Please tell me you wiped it down for the picture or is it always that clean?

Kurt, awesome sunset photos yet again.
I'm out of time tonight, but I'll try and get some of my new sunset photos posted tomorrow to show you. I really like the photo of the classic Mini too. Man that car is gorgeous!
OctaneGuy, when I first saw your photo, I thought that would be a perfect advert for your detailing video. I don't think you can get more of a mirror finish than what you showed.

Thanks speednut! That Mini is in the NAM calender (thought it looked familiar)!
OctaneGuy, I've used the excuse of low light to get away with a dirty car all this time. Now you show up...

Finally catching up here as we've been having some very nice sunsets lately in the South Bay. Mother Nature's A/C has been kicking in and bringing some clouds & fog in for the sun to reflect onto.
I often hear pro photographers say to photograph near where you live so when you see great light to capture, you already know a good place for composition. I'm trying to use this thought process and I believe this is what Kurt is doing when he finds some of the amazing Arizona sunsets. These were all taken at or within 1/2 mile of my house this past two weeks. I used my new tiny Panasonic LX1 which is always in my computer bag so I can take spur-of-the-moment photos.
Thumbnails are all clickable and created by actions from here.
Almaden Valley Sunset.
Clouds found during curry dinner run.
Neighbor's house with bronze tint windows creating interesting highlights on "Twiggy".
Reflections on the C pillar while feeding "Twiggy".
Sunset glow on Lake Almaden.
Sunset glow on Lake Almaden continued.

Thanks for posting

You dog!
I like this one... a new perspective. Wonder what my non-overrideable auto-focus will do.Thanks for blowing my secret about looking for locations.
Really nice set here; the film format is trick.
The suns was setting as I was washing it yesterday and I like the way the clouds reflected off the bonnet. Of couse when I went to drive it today it was a mess, must of rained from those clouds last night.
Red Rain Sunset!
This was intense tonight. Started a bit lame.

This is a vacant lot on a ridge above ChinaMart, I would have to rob a Brinks truck to buy it.
Last night had incredible alpenglow rays past Granite Mountain, spaced taking the camera. It was boring for awhile after this.

Tried something different with the car (like avoid showing how dirty it is despite washing the big dirt from the run up Thumb Butte Road last night
)

This glow started...

...and it got brighter...

...and brighter...

Climaxing with this red rain glow.
God is a great artist.
I like seeing what other people are trying out, keep it coming!
