Tioga Pass/Lee Vining Run:

Hey everyone,

I wanted to get your input on the date for the Tioga Pass Lee Vining Run. I had a few people say that they will not be able to make this run due to the date I scheduled at the meeting. If you could please reply and let me know if one of the suggested dates below will work better for you (if you are interested in this run). The suggested dates are Saturday, Sept. 11, Sept. 18, or Sept. 25. We will go with the date that the majority of the group picks. Thank you all for the help!!!!! I will possibly be able to lead on the 11th but I will not be able to join on the 18th or the 25th so if those date are chosen then we will need someone to lead. Also please take into consideration that we have to go through 140 (El Portel entrance) due to the paving in the valley.

Tina

Any of the dates work for Kikimowse and Bitzie. May have a new club member. Co-worker just bought a MINI. I loaded him up with all the 411 today including the info for this run and the one to Hanford.

Hey all,
Due to the amount of people who answered the vote. I have decided to cancel this run for this year. We had a total of 6 people respond. For me that is just not enough to do a run with. When we were at the Hanford dairy run this weekend I made the announcement. Sorry to those of you who really wanted to go! I am also making this decision due to October will now have 2 events plus the meeting in it. The Photo shoot day and the British Car Show! If you have any complaints please let me know through email.

Well bummer. I was looking forward to meeting some new friends. We are going anyway. Booked a room in Tahoe.

I'm going to post this, too late for some but the SoCal MINIManiacs will be up in that area that weekend. The people that wanted to do this run could always go up and come back down with them to Oakhurst. Here is their link:http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?llr=ck8gts...sgzTRDQjjBDdg=

The Devil's Backbone -- Trans-Sierra Run

It's finally here! Join us for this three-day adventure in the High Sierras, September 10-12. The journey will begin on Hwy 395 for a night in Mammoth Lakes, then over the Tioga Pass, through Yosemite National Park, and spending the second night in Oakhurst.
Check the Club Events Forum for more information.

Virtual Lee Vining Run

Since we did not do the Lee Vining run this year, I thought that we could do a virtual run instead. I pieced a few pictures together from last year and a few from my trip in May of this year. While a virtual trip is not quite the same, it is faster and the gas mileage is great! So kick back in this week's 100+ temp, turn down the air conditioner and pretend that you are on your way to Lee Vining.

AWESOME. Thanks for putting this together. Just might have to do this run solo myself. Such a beautiful view.
