I'm interested in getting an MCS with the JCW kit, but I've yet to see/hear/or drive one. I'm reluctant to spend $5000+ until I experience it first hand.

Can anyone help me out? I'd appreciate it!

I've a Webb Motorsports 200Hp package that I'll let you check out, is that close enough?

Cheers,
Ryan

I believe that MAG ( Midwest Auto Group)in Dublin, OH has one that you could demo
Minzilla is pushing 230 HP all from Webb Motorsports, including suspension for just a little over $6K.
If you get one, remember Red is faster!

Ryephile -

Thanks, I may take you up on your offer. I'll let you know. I'd prefer a JCW (since that's probably what I would be getting), but at least yours will be similar in terms of power:weight in general. And who knows, maybe I'll prefer the Webb mods over the JCW???

I work in Dearborn and live in Canton. Where are you located?

(On a side note...it's funny that you responded to my post in the Ohio forum, and not in the Michigan one.)

Minzilla-

Thanks for your suggestion regarding MAG in Dublin. I've been there before (gf used to live in Columbus), and I may be going there next month, so I'll definitely look into it.

Thanks,
SDR

Hate to sound conceited, but Ryan's 200 hp could spank a JCW 200 hp... for 1/3 the cost. I think my 190 could beat the JCW... huge waste of money IMHO.

Minizila has the coolest car I know...

Sarcux; technically your statement is accurate; The Webb 200HP package has more torque than the JCW. A recent Michigan MINI Dyno Day, a JCW owner pulled 178 wHP and 159 wLb-Ft peak, whereas my MM2 pulled 182 wHP and 167 wLb-Ft peak. I don't have the charts in front of me, but the Webb 200 had a higher average HP and Lb-Ft rating too. To rub salt in the JCW wound, a fellow MINIac with only a 15% pulley and ALTA no-tube CAI pulled the exact same numbers as the JCW (but running a higher octane, so it's kinda cheating), all for $600 installed! Needless to say, the JCW owner was not amused

My JCW was in Cleveland when I picked it up back in January! If you want to make a trip to the Pacific NW, you're more than welcome to check out the car.

SDR,
Try sending a PM to "mokeefe" He purchased a JCW MCS from Julie at Classic MINI last November, and he lives in the Detroit area. He may pick it up; but he hasn't posted on NAM since December
