Yeah... 125 is a great road - I'll vouch for that. Haven't had a chance to do it with the MINI yet, but I have been up and down it on the motorcycle. I also caught wind of an amazing stretch of road near the Harrisburg, but I think I lost the paper that had the directions to find it... D'oh!

I have a pretty good destination in mind if folks are interested in a PA foliage tour! Have a nice route that I do all the time on the motorcycle, which includes some twisty roads that you'll only find on topo maps!

But... we'll worry about all that when it gets closer to leaf season...

I will second that ... the road to Shamokin is SMOKIN for sure. Yes someone had to say it! We do this with the Z3s a couple of times a year. We nicknamed it the gecko... Fantastic road as far as PA twisties goes..

But anyhow.. more on this drive.. if its ok I want to post a picture of us on the pre-run.. These roads are quaint and scenic. There is much fun to be had...

Hey there,
Been trying to find some mini people in the Lambertville/New Hope area (I live in Lville) I guess this would be a good chance to, so I'll do my best to be there. I know of atleast 2 covered bridges within 10-15 minutes of Lville (one is in NJ by stockton). Hope to see you all there.
Alex

Thanks Koolmini,

Don't know why I can't download directly to the site, but glad you were able to get into them, and post them for me!!

Very nice choice, I particularly like the one of HARMINI in the foreground, and then of course, her new signature photo!!!

It really is as beautiful as the pictures lead you to believe. If you have never been to this part of NE Pennsylvania, it is definately worth the drive. Come on up from MD, VA, DC and make a week-end of it!!!

Cheers.

Scott

Thanks KoolMINI,

I am posting challenged, I guess.

Aren't they great photos. You too can take beautiful pictures like this, if you come on 3 August!!!

I believe you will be there, but let's drum up more Motorists!!!!

Let's see, 50 MINIs driving down Main Street in New Hope???? Now that might make the news!!!

Cheers.

Scott

Yeah... and it might also take about 5 hours to get through the town! Last time I went through New Hope on my (air-cooled) motorcycle, it took so long I almost started to overheat. I think it took me about a half-hour to get accross town that day (and for those who aren't familiar, accross town is approximately a mile).

Typically when I lead groups through this area, I choose to avoid New Hope altogether, unless we actually decide to stop there, for whatever reason...

We were there last Sunday it was not that bad at all and also when I went through there last year with 23 BMW Z3s we made it through fine on a beautiful day in less than half hour. I guess it depends on the day. Personally, the thought of a half hour spent in a MINI parade through a crowded small town is not an issue with me.

LOTS OF ATTENTION! And if anyone here does not like attention then they sure did purchased the wrong car...

If it gets to be too much we just go to plan B which is already planned out just in case.

the trick with driving though New Hope on a Sunday is to do it early before 11a

It's a long story. Right now I'm driving a Contour SVT. The second Mini is due to arrive sometime in Aug. Not in time for this event.

Hey Harmini ... hi ...

pick a meeting spot yet???? Unless something changes, the newbie-weds are planning on attending (we're also planning on trying to make sure we past the break-in period by then too, we're about halfway there now after a week or so of driving )

Hey Kev,

I did the dry-run with HARMINI and Pocket_Rocket this past Sunday. I'm still in my break-in period too, and we never went over 4,500 RPMs.

Now, they may have, but it should be an easy ride for your new MINI.

Newbie-weds??? Does that mean, newly married, or newly acquired of your MINI??

Scott

LY-MCS!!!! She's a blast!

Hey Scott,

Harmini named us Newbie-weds, see the thread on I Gave My Bride A Mini (by now I think it is on page 2 of Mini Talk)... but the direct answer is YES, BOTH.

As for the break-in, I'm not too worried about the RPMS, I also can't see too large a group of cars getting too carried away on those roads.

I'm trying to convince my little bro to come too, they're picking up their MCS this coming weekend (so they'll definitely be in break-in).

Actually I like the little squares that koolmini has the best. Hey koolmini.. what program are you using to make your thumbs? Or are you just making the pictures that small by changing the res? If I could do a clean sweep of pics and make thumbs for them all that would be great! I hear thumbsplus is a decent program.
