JCW exhaust resonator ......

Well after a long time with my JCW exhaust I was getting bored. I was happy hearing the Alta scream but without my original Borla Race my MINI had no volume in the exhaust note. I decided to take my stock MCS exhaust cut it to length and have it installed in place of the resonator on the JCW exhaust. What a nice sound the car has now. I couldn't be happier with this choice now if I could only find someone in my area to install those M7 springs

I had my resenator removed about 2 months ago, and I Love it, did you see any gain on fuel, I now get a solid 3 more miles to the gallon now and the car sound like and animal when I rev it up, Got to love it!!!

No way to record the exhaust note and doubt that it would sound any good online anyway. This is one of those in it to win it sounds! I have only had the mod for a day now and am still winding it up a bit so don't know if MPG is any better.

I will see what I can do about getting sound clip. not sure how well it will work out, the only other thing I can think of is using a cell phone to listen to it.

k9mini do you notice a funny noise when it cold and when you take the rpms up, then after about 30 sec and after thing warm up and get the pressure up in the exhaust the sound goes away and then it sound freakin awesome.

I'd be curious to know the decibels before trying it if anyone could manage that. I really do not want it to be over the legal level and/or loud enough to garner unwanted attention from the police or racer types.

If I was a guessing man i would say this it is very close to a milteck, not the same kind of tone but i dont think it is louder than a milteck, I would say they are about the same loudness. I have a freind with a milteck and I have heard it, its awesome sound, i have not heard my JCW minues resenator removal from out side of the car. I am always driving.

You can use a video camera to record, then use rca cables & an adapter to your soundcard's line in jack. Any sound recording proggy should work. Using a phone will yield less than optimum results.

First of all - hi from blighty

I'm about to remove my JCW resonator after the next track day because i've burnt out the baffles on the last 4 Track days i think - sounds like a bag of marbles at the moment. A few self tapping screws have stopped it for now but its got to go. I'd be interested to know what the new decibel limit is as my local track has quite a strict limit and i've already got a sports CAT and mainifold . I'll try and post a soundclip before and aftersometime in the next couple of weeks.
