So I passed breakin on my 05 JCW....

and... all you hear at 6500 rpm is the supercharger screaming. My next mod is going to be a velcro patch on the dash so that my phone and other misc items that are normally on the passenger seat don't end up in the door sill.

Umm, like, what are you saying?

Are you saying you passed on getting the JCW upgrade because all you hear at 6500 RPMs is the supercharger whine?

1.) Is supercharge whine a BAD thing?

2.) Do you drive so often up in that RPM range that it is annoying to you?

3.) If so, you probably should SHIFT to the next gear...

I believe what he is trying to say is that he has now completed the required break-in period on his car and is therefore having a tremendous amount of fun.

I got the Euro parcel shelf to alleviate this problem. My sunglasses case and iPod and some other small stuff sits there just fine. The bit of a lip on it and the rubber liner in the bottom holds stuff really well. I've never had anything fall off it Plus, you don't have some unsightly velcro on your dash

1/3 of the way there.

I am at 400miles.. 1/3 of the way to the promised land.

Sometimes I think it's gonna take longer to get to 1200 miles
than it was to get the car. I'm looking forward to it as much
as I was to finally getting the Mini.

Later,
Ray

Awfully darned addicting (addictive - see below), isn't it?

Heh OK. Like I said, feel free to ignore me. I won't nitpick every detail of English, but the common use of "addicting" instead of "addictive" is just one of those things that grates on my nerves.

That, and the horrible mispronoucement of other words like "harrassment", but since this a text forum, not spoken, I doubt that it will become a problem. The worst for me was this one anchor on CNN who constantly mispronounced it, drove me nuts - I was screaming at the TV! (a TV news anchor really should know better)

Anyway, back to your regular time, channel & forum topic. I have an 05 JCW too, and I love mine...

I Want a JCW!!!

Where's the easiest bank to knock off. You guys are making me jealous. I broke mine in driving it back from Texas to California. Hit 1250 on a very straight back road in New Mexico. Hit 113 mph before I started to think about the fuzz with radar detectors (this is purely a hypothetical for those of you who like to follow speed limits ).

The break-in roadtrip is a must, but if I was unable to do that, I would pick up my MINI and immediately drive 625 miles in one direction before doing a quick U-turn!

What an addicting addicitive thing this MINI thang is!

Ride 'em hard and put 'em away wet,
Mike

Good to hear you are enjoying your JCW MCS. I've got 1,047 miles on mine as of this morning. Looking forward to passing the 1,250 mile mark so I can run it to the red line and see what my MINI's made of.
