A few questions.....possible reunite with JCW

Looking for a few quick answers, hopefully.

Kicking around the idea of getting another JCW Hardtop (had a 2016 and sold it) and have a few questions. Been quite a while since I've been on the MINI website and things sure have changed quite a bit.

1. Where can you find all the "accessories" like they used to have available on the website? JCW Coilovers, wheels, mirror caps, etc.?
2. Is the garage door opener no longer an option/feature?
3. Does the passenger footwell still have the mesh net holder?

I have a few more, but we can start here. Appreciate the help.....

1. MINI JCW Parts
2. I don't believe they've removed it.
3. All the MINIs I have seen have the mesh net.

Appreciate the info!

Stopped by a local dealership yesterday to see if my interest is really warranted, and good news, it is! Noticed that the garage door openers are definitely still there. Did not see a single "map holder" mesh net in any of the cars, so I guess it's been removed.

One other thing I noticed.....in all pictures I've seen with manual transmissions, the e-brake is a hand brake. All A/T JCW Hardtop cars I've seen (no manuals at the dealership) have an electronic e-brake. Is that accurate?

My 2022 JCW is an auto and it does NOT have the e-brake switch setup, it is a full handle.

Can anyone weigh in on the Manual Transmission side?

Automatics come standard with electric parking brake, while the manuals have a manual parking brake. This for the 3 and 5 door models. Clubman, Countryman, Electric all come with a electric parking brake.

My 2022 JCW 3 door automatic has a manual parking brake, Maybe it's different in 2023, but in 2022 JCW 3 Door models the electric parking brake only came with cars with both an automatic transmission and the adaptive cruise control. My car does not have the adaptive cruise control.

No mesh,
Elec brake with Auto.
I have 18" wheels and ride is fine.
Not as sporty feeling as my 05. Feels very solid. Larger than my 05, still feels like a mini.
Daily driver. Awesome.

If the durability is good I will really be a happy camper.

One last question before finalizing an order.....

If you were going to immediately change out the tires and wheels, what would be more beneficial in the long run to order with the car.....the 17's or the 18's? I just wanna make sure I'm not missing something in my decision making.

Thanks

Haven't read all the responses and maybe your question has been answered but I just bought a 2023 JCW 6-speed yesterday (Feb 27) and it has a manual hand brake.

An argument could be made to opt for the least expensive wheels/tires the factory offered. Since you are taking them off anyhow why buy a fancy set of wheels/tires only to remove them and replace them?

OTOH, if you get the fancier/larger wheels/tires even if you don't like the wheels/tires I would expect there would be some demand for them by owners seeking to upgrade. Doubt you'll get your money back from the sale of the wheels/tires but you should get some of it back.

Agreed and I've toyed with this same choice. I live in the Chicago area and we are the definition of bad roads. So I decided to start on the 17's with the stock All seasons tires. They will most likely become my winter wheels and I'll get dedicated summer wheels/tires down the road. The 18's are summer tires only, so if you live with weather, you'll need something that can hand winter down the road.

Cheers, Kevin.

Side Scuttle question/help:

I'm not a fan of the red bar above the LED light on the JCW Side Scuttle. I much prefer the Black Bar (see pics below). What part do I need to order (assuming from an S model) in regard to swapping these out? Unbeknownst to me (my error for not doing more research) the Side Scuttle replacement you can purchase from MINI do not come with the LED light, only the pop in/out replacement scuttle. I ordered the Night Jack Scuttles, so I have those, so I just need to know how to get the black bar LED that will accept the Night Jack Scuttle pop in. Hope that made sense....

Also (I accidentally posted this question in the wrong place) can anyone tell me if the doors on the '23/'24 JCW have the factory door entry lamps? Want to add these when mine arrives.....

This is what I got for my GP:

https://www.outmotoring.com/side-mar...-173306lg.html

They look great, although they might work for the LCI2.

They do look great, however I like the LCI2 style much better. Thanks for the recommendation....
