Pricing on JCW pro exhaust

So I am taking delivery of my JCW around the beginning of July and would like to get the JCW pro exhaust. Where is the best price to purchase the exhaust from? This is what my dealer said when I asked for pricing "I looked into the exhaust and its 3080 before install ~ which is another 1.5 to install". I might as well buy it from WMW for 2000 and install it myself or do you have to have it reprogrammed?

We sell the exhaust for $1800 range at my dealership. Google it. ECS Tuning has it. Other dealers selling them online as well in the $1800 range. Tech said no reprogramming needed for the exhaust.

Wonder what all is involved for wiring it. Like is it just a plug that already exists on the car or do you have to do some actual wiring.

Thank you ECS I don't need the entire kit as I already have the JCW just need the exhaust but looks like you have that as well. Might be placing an order soon!

Since I am not doing the JCW tune do I still have to bring it in to be coded or will it work just plugging it in?

For the transponder ( push button) to work I believe it will needed coded. Unless you dont care about the and just wire tire the valve to always open.

The factory JCW shouldn't need any coding for it to work. I've been having some issues with mine, so they updated my car's software to the latest version, but it had no effect on the exhaust. The only place the exhaust is really wired into the car is the wires that run from the back to the fuse box for power. The other wires are to connect the exhaust flap mechanism to the actuator that is engaged with the remote.

I'm curious if just about everyone if not everybody who runs this exhaust experienced the discoloration on the tailpipe tip on the side with the flap (i.e. the side sans muffler)?

Yep. Because the flap is open 99% of the time. Run it with the flap closed for a while and the other side should eventually discolor too.

Since you're getting a JCW you only are looking for the exhaust. So you could actually save a bunch by just going with one of our AWE Exhausts, or a Remus if you are looking for an exhaust with a flap valve. Both of them have a great sound and lighter than the JCW, and much more affordable.

Really? Are you sure about that? It just seems to me that the exhaust tip that is on the pipe from the muffler won't get as "hot" as the straight through pipe. Maybe it's just not s big deal cause I like the flap option for obvious reasons....I just know I'd be bugged by the obvious discoloration if only on one side. I'm leaning toward the AWE exhaust with no flaps possibly, if I swap out the stock JCW exhaust.....and it may get louder after some time/use.

I notice that the right pipe gets a little dirtier, too. I just clean them more often. I also do the same to my wife's X3 because its chrome pipes can get very dirty.

I saw an MCS a couple of weeks back with the tuning kit, and the tail pipes were filthy. It would probably take quite a bit of effort to get them shiny again, if at all.

For me, including the tail pipes in the cleaning routine have kept them looking great.

The oem carbon fiber seems to still have have chrome on it. I'm looking into purchasing Ecs black chrome one. I think inside diameter is 2.5 and outer diameter could be 3 or 4 inches. Not sure how it would work fitting wise. Need to measure my jcw pro exhaust to make sure.

Curious...If you have a JCW model that already has a better exhaust, why the need for the JCW Pro Exhaust? I might be misunderstanding as I have a JCW on order which should be here around June 10th, but why would we need a different exhaust than the stock JCW exhaust?

yes, I get that, I am the same way. I guess I should have asked, what does the JCW Pro exhaust offer over the stock JCW exhaust ON a JCW? What are the differences? Because I have thought about an after market exhaust as well for my 2016 JCW but have no idea other than the flap what a different exhaust would offer. I understand what it does on an S model but not what it can do on a JCW model if that makes sense.

It sounds great for one thing. Also makes a few more HP. KYDan has posted his dyno results on the forum showing a 9-10hp increase with the flap open. This was with a JCW.
