I say enjoy your new JCW for awhile before jumping in with mods! It's a great car stock & make's plenty of "noise" in stock form...really! I've resisted the urge to do mods on mine so far, and so far I'm still content with stock setup. The ride height has even settled and sits lower which makes me hold off on the pro-lowering coilovers, for now anyway. If I change my stock exhaust out I will go AWE or something without a flap....you will likely get a discoloration on the tip of the exhaust on the flap side with the pro-exhaust setup....it is cool though!....just not ready to ditch the gorgeous stock exhaust yet.....money doesn't grow on trees sadly! Just an opinion from the other side. :-)

Yes, the pro exhaust is horrendously expensive, but it does add horsepower and torque and the sound is awesome. It may be simply perception, but I am happy that I did it. The addition of the power module and the exhaust really transformed the little beastie into a rip snorting twisty taming mini monster! Coupled with a good set of tires the transition is complete and it is a great traveling auto and adequate for the occasional trip to the track.

Agree with 02 here. The stock JCW exhaust has the looks and makes enough noise and pop that kept me from replacing it. Also still have to justify the 8hp(?) 1K on average price tag of the aftermarket ones.

I've had my '16JCW since Thanksgiving weekend and have added only the LED running lights to date (love them). I recently went back to test drive one with the 'installed exhaust with the 'flap'). The difference to me was between modest and none so I kept the money in my jeans. However even without a flap, the OEM JCW exhaust seems to run more moisture out of the right side than the left (yes it creates stains). Semichrome polish is wonderful and once done right, it only requires a carbon fiber rag kept in the back to wipe them out ever now and then to maintain a shiny inner lip. Deeper in, it's painted black and that will never shine.

I'd love to see a graphic of the OEM JCW muffler to see how it's routed inside. Seems that under a heavy throttle more comes from the right side pipe even though it all comes to the back in just one. Puzzling.

How many hours does your service department charge to install?

(I ask for hours instead of dollars because I know rates vary regionally. You're gonna pay more in New York City than in Augusta, for example.

Thanks!

Here is the video of the unboxing of the JCW tuning kit and other JCW parts at Mini of Dutchess County NY. Chris from Mini of Dutchess County was kind enough to let us record him, while he showed me the parts.
If you have any question I would be glad to answer them. I had a lot of work done to my car.

That was awesome. I wish most dealership would be as involved and transparent as Mini of Dutchess County! Great video.

Mini of Dutchess is great. They do lots of mini events. (I personally won a green mini bicycle.)
I am pretty sure Mini was more excited to work on and reveal the car to me, then I was (trust me I was pumped) Chris from parts and Mark the service manager are the best. They even let me record the install of the JCW parts. COMING SOON.

They've figured it out. Multimedia/video is better exposure than any ads or email they can send out. Times have changed, now you just go online and type what ever you're looking for.
Amazing what piece of work the JCW pro exhaust is huh. I finally got to see it on a lift and it was a work of art. Just keep an eye on that right tip. It has a tendency to yellow (specially since mine stays open quite often) looking into getting just plain black replacement to blend with the car. Maybe even powder coat it flat black one day.
