Pleasant suprise or fluke ???

Today I took JR to the shop to have my ordered LED driving lamps installed (got an excellent price from the shop manager). The tech had everything laid out by his bay and 2.5 hours later I was motoring back home.

The surprise is the photo of the lamp projecting onto my garage cabinet . Is that a MiNi projected ??? What do you think?

Can't wait until tonight to see them in action on a country road near home .

Note to someone the other day that remarked on the lamp placement, the drivers side lamp WILL cover the JCW emblem in the grill. It's sad but there is no other way if you want the lamps.

Don't know about the reflection thing but I love my driving/rally lights on my JCW & hiding the grill badge doesn't bother me one bit.....a proper MINI needs rally lights right? Oh, you will see at night on the darkest road like it's daylight with your high beams & rally lights on!

Well that is a very cool reflection! Not sure if its the rally lights doing it or just looking deep like seeing Lincoln in your toast, but still cool! Would love to get them on my car, but I'm trying to save up for the pro suspension first. Still jealous though.

The beam seems very weak for driving lights and Mini has so messed up with the front end that adding anything on the bumper/grille looks strange.

The front end is due for a new design.

We have the LED headlight, conering lights and the LED driving lights. The headlights and the cornering lights are superb. The driving light mounts do not hold the light position on rough roads due to the bracket design and truthfully with the LED headlights really don't add much useful additional light. I would not order them again.

Before getting the lights, I inquired about how they hold their position over time, car wash's etc. They showed me how they mount them to the bumper and are adjustable with a simple allen wrench. I think getting them tight to start with is key but long term use will tell for sure.

Coming back last night on a country road allowed me to turn them on and off to see the difference. About half the light was additional peripheral with the greatest amount center loaded. I do have to lower the beam on both of mine I think just a tick. They're an expensive add on even with a good deal but I think I'll be happy with mine.

I had them on my R56 in addition to the xenon lights. I liked them on that car. On my F56 I think the LED headlights more than make up for the lack of auxiliary driving lights. I think the only change I'm gonna make is to enable the LED fog lights with high beams to fill in the pattern closer to the car. I'll get this done at MOTD when Helix is doing some coding for me.

Very interesting reflection! We have the none LED options on our R53 and R56. Love them and think they really give it a good look. For anyone who is interested in the MINI LED DRL's we have them. Can PM me for grille/bracket info too if interested. Enjoy!
