i'm going to "guess" that you will have a problem in the rear. my example is that i'm on 17x7.5 et40 and i rub in the rears. keep in mind that for me to rub, i'm tucked on coilovers and under hard turns. you are .5" wider and 5mm further. if you are going to drive "normal" then you may be fine, but any aggressive driving, lowering, or a car full of people, would cause you to rub.

also to note, the JCW's have lips on their fenders that given them ~5mm more spacing. you'd have to consider that if you get a response from a JCW owner

fyi, i have an S. i'm on this thread because i'm on the JCW BBK so my wheels need to be able to fit around that.

Ok, this helps me more so than what Ive been able to find while Googling. I will only lower the car after the wheels are put on and I know I can lower it without issues. If anything, i will lower it just a little. I havent beent able to find many wheels that catch my attention. And when I do see something I like, it has an et35 and so I feel like taking my chances.

Hi
Did you buy wheels with et35? How do they fit on a car?

Thanks

Not yet. Thinking of just adding spacers for the time being while I hunt for the right wheel. Im picky about wheels. Im content with the stock wheels for now. I need to lower it ASAP though.

I didn't see that option (et35) in the dropdown. Was that taken in at a shop?

It would be a great idea, and I would have that done if I could find a place to do custom offset.

It's listed on the official OZ Homepage. I'm an OZ dealer here in Switzerland and I ordered it at the official OZ Wheels Switzerland.
So it's not a custom job from a shop or something.

I definitely should of went that route. I wish I knew of that option. I love O.Z. wheels. It was a bit challenging to get them to fit. To this day I am still playing with spacers on the front ranging from 8mm to 10mm. the hub is only 10mm so its hard for the wheel to center on the hub with only 0~2mm of resting point. The Hub centric 10mm spacers wont fit on the hub without grinding the factory hub down 1~2mm.

8mm spacer

I use 8x17 et 40 with 235 tyre, what you rub is the wheelhouse carpet, once driven in hard, its fine and you can peel of the carpet of the rear tires, the kids love it.

But i agree that 17x7.5 et40 is a nice size, also in 16 inch.

Iam always confused that people make such a big thing about OZ. Expensive very limited offsets, and why do i talk about weight on those, if i have to add 10mm spacers, longer bolts.

In general i see it from a dynamic point of view, so that size 18" is never a option.

I have a set of OEM 17" Tentacle wheels/winter tyres I use currently on my 2014 Cooper S. I know they won't fit my LCI JCW that I've ordered but I wonder if they'd fit with spacers? It would have me the ballache of having to sell my current ones and buy new ones to fit the JCW.....
Can anyone advise?

You will have to use at least 20mm spacers on the front.... That can look good though.

Thanks! Would it handle like a pig though? Does it affect your insurance? Sorry for being clueless. It's certainly an option to try before having to find a set of aftermarket ones.

I run 12mm on the front and 15mm on the back even with my winter stock rims. Not sure on the insurance.
With spacers there is a certain amount of scrub radius that goes on but you would never know to drive the car. Your car will get dirtier though - around the wheels....but will look way more aggressive.

GregoryK, I hadn't heard the term scrub radius before and I'm really intrigued after looking it up. Definitely makes sense after doing some modding to my R53 and feeling the difference in steering feel.

Love them!

I got the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 wheels last year in May, and have been loving them! They are 17x7.5 +45. No rubbing issues, they clear the Brembos no problem, and are a LOT lighter than the OEM wheels. I had Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s (amazing), and now have the Pilot Super Sports on it now, they are 215/45 R17.

I ordered a set of Pro Race 1.2 in Gloss Black in 17 7.5 ET45 setup. They will be wrapped in BFGoodrich 215/45 Summer tires. Got the tires and Continental TPMS sensors but not the wheels.

My set of Track Spokes is ruined. Three of them are severely bent, to a point where driving between 70-75MPH causes severe steering vibrations. I've gone all winter with them (10k miles) but it's time to replace. By the way, I've ordered wheel warranty at the dealer, but they refused to warranty because wheels were beading... total BS.

According to the configurator on the OZ Racing site, the 18X8 +45 will fit the JCW. You can always check with the manufacturer to ensure they tested the fitment, I did that with my Team Dynamics wheels.

Vorsteiner V-FF 108 18x8 +45 5x112 66.5CB Carbon Graphite

Barely fits, I'll add a 3mm spacer just to give brakes clearance. Since I usually track the car, I'm afraid that if brakes get too hot they can expand and hit the wheels.

et 53 or et 47?

Please help! O.K. my stock JCW wheel is 17x7 et 54. I want to get the Work Emotion T7r wheel at 18x7.5. It comes in et 47 and et 53. In order to be sure it clears the brakes, I think I should go et 53. Am I correct in this thinking or would et 47 be fine? Pros and cons of either? Thanks. This photo makes me think this wheel should work fine.

Well, based on that photo if your car is lowered as extremely as that one, my guess is the et 53 is a safer bet from rubbing the fenders! But the 7.5” width might put et 53 too close to the struts. It’s all about the geometry of the wheel and the chosen tire, not just the offset. The NM wheels that are made specifically for the JCW are 7.5” wide as I recall with et 40 or et 45 so you’d think either et 47 or et 53 would work but as I said it’s all about the wheel geometry. Trial fitment is the only way to know for sure.

Work is saying +38 will clear the JCW brakes (options are +38, 47 & 53) so I'm trusting them on this one. I will upload photos when the day comes. I don't really want to mount these until the car is in its proper stance and it may take a few months if they have to ship from Japan. The wheels in the photo on the yellow MINI are 19's which they don't make anymore. I'm going with matte bronze on my black/red JCW... bronze is the new black imo.

Rays ZE40 Time Attack Edition, 18 8.5J ET43. Tyres are Potenza RE-71R 225/40/18. No spacer or anything to clear the JCW BBK.
If you are running stock fender flare, you will need to trim the inside of the it. You can see a tutorial video on NM Engineering's Youtube channel.
And my car has wide fender kit

Holy wow! 8.5 inches wide? Could you provide a picture of how close they sit to the strut? And maybe a link to the flares?

What a great setup.

I just got a brand new set of dedicated wheels for my JCW in Japan. Gorgeous Giomic Flow formed and lightweight wheels. The normal sets don't work on JCW but this is a special 18x7.5 ET41 set they made, its a One-of and I absolutely LOVE them. They look absolutely sick in person. No spacers, and a superb design.

Really close, probably 2-3mm ..maybe fewer, see if i can take a picture next time when its on lift

Search "f56 tesoro" on ebay, also u need to cut the metal fender so 225 doesnt rub against the metal

I am going to get 245/40/18 after this set lf tyre , it think i will need 5mm spacer to clear the strut
