1st gen JCW brake rotors

Any suggestions for R53 JCW front rotors with hats that won't rust (and rears to match)?

Seem to have limited options - found TSW rotors with black painted hats but no JCW fitment. Slotted brembos look nice but reviews say more rust than OEM. Have read good things about powerslots but don't know where to get them in JCW fitment.

Also need street/autocross pad recommendations while I'm at it, but have found much more info on that topic.

These might be a good option. I just got their Gen2 JCW rotors and installed them last night, They appear to be of great quality. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FRONT-REAR-BRAKENETIC-PREMIUM-Drilled-Slotted-Brake-Disc-Rotors-BPRS35616-/131181374873?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ACooper&hash=item1e8b04ed99
These should be the exact size you need for your Gen1 JCW setup.

I suggest you check with wmw again.....
The gen2 "S" rotors are the same as gen1 JCW....many folks like the "red" pads from ebc....but I like akenebono pads...even less dust... But NOT a track pad...reds are a bit more versatile with better hot performance......

Also didn't cross my mind that for stock/street class they need to be OEM equivalent, so no slots allowed... will probably just go with an OEM type rotor with this being the case, but I will check in with wmw.

Reading into the EBC reds they look like a good compromise for street/autox, might go that route.

"Plain Jane" CENTRIC Premium OEM type with the black painted hats are the best bang for the buck. For pads, you need some that don't require a lot of heat to bite. HAWK HP Plus should do the job.

Is this the same for the pads?

Back in the early JCW Gen 1 brakes days you could get factory cross drilled and slotted for the fronts.

We have ECS Geomet Coated rotors here in slotted or cross drilled and slotted, pair them with HP pads and you are good to go. There is a year split for brake rotors in 7/2006. So watch for that. They also come with free shipping within the contiguous US.

Rears are of course the same on JCW brakes package cars as the Cooper and Cooper S.

and the rear which are the same as the Cooper / Cooper S, MINI had the same shape pad for the JCW's just had a different compound.

Don't forget the rotor screws, one per caliper. Put a little anti-seize on the threads and you are good to go.

Centric Power Slots! Forget drilled rotors if you're going to track the car.
