Swap out JCW Exhaust

I've got an 08 S that I got with the JCW tuning package... Well my wife doesn't like how loud it is on the freeway. Is it simple to swap out the exhaust for a stock one? I heard they did something with one of the resonators with the swap, could I simply revert that???

Anyway, any help would be appreciated. This car is awesome fun and can't believe I am this late to the party.

Oh, and I am located in Columbus Ohio, if there is somebody who is around that is interested in helping me sort this!

You would need the exhaust from the cat back off a S model. Or safe a lot of money and go to a muffler shop and have them just replace the muffler. My best suggestion is to get one of these

Yeah, that was my thought too. Although your solution does have it's appeal. At some point you have to remove attachment...

You could buy a new catback exhaust but a lot of the aftermarket ones are going to be louder than the JCW one. Also, not all of the aftermarket exhausts are simple bolt on. Some of them you have to cut your factory exhaust and clamp the new one on. I would take it to a muffler shop and you could have them weld in a resonator or something to tone it down a little.

I doubt I'll have to twist to many arms to give away my JCW exhaust. Just making sure it is that easy as a swap for stock.

Part of installing the JCW Tuning Kit exhaust involves cutting out the center resonator and clamping in a piece of pipe in its place. Depending upon exactly where those cuts were made, it may be possible to clamp the resonator back in. I tossed mine a while ago, and can't recall how much pipe was hanging off of each end, but it's worth a look. They also swapped out the rear muffler, which you can swap back in if you'd like. I know the stock rear mufflers from my car (plural, as I have a clubman) were definitely in a condition where they could be swapped back in easily.
