make a full body panel peice for the bonnet. That way you wouldnt have the problem with lines? I would immagine many more people would get that since they hate the line, but want the protection!

by the way, you can get good shops to cover any part of the car you want, they will custom cut it and install it for you
if you were to cover the entire bonnet it would cost probably 3 times the normal cost. Not to mention it would be pretty hard to do without cutting on the car.
I have installed a bunck of these but I dont have one on my car because its black and I cant live with the line.

nope none onmy car. its way to obious on a black car and as much as you need to polish and wax a black car all the lines get highlighted.
Amanda's car had it on untill saturday when I pulled it off. Her car has just over 15K on it now and it looks awesome ! I am going to put a new one on since I have a few extras from when I was installing them. I think I have 4 or 5 various mini kits left, if anyone needs one I will blow them out just to get them out of the garage.
Just for the record I no longer sell or install them, but I have a few leftovers if anyone is interested pm me and I will let them go at a great deal.

Just yesterday, I had the VentureShield clearbra installed on my MCS and it looks fantastic! The VentureShield film has crystal clear optical clarity, it is thinner yet many times stronger than comparable 3M film used in most clearbra applications today. Believe it or not, the line is very hard to see against my Chili Red bonnet and I was told by the installer as it cures better it will become even more invisible.
The VentureShield clearbra is a top notch product with a lifetime warranty and looks much better than any of the 3M film applications I have seen before.

people install venture shield ( venture tape ) alot of the time because its easier to get a clean istall. In the beginning it looks better, clearer and all but it requires maintenance that 3m does not. If you put both on the same car and dont wax it for 6 months while its parked outside I think you will be surprised which one hold up better. 3M is definitly a petter product !
Also minir scratches can be buffed out of 3m but not on venture tape.

I've seen a full-hood install on a Lotus Elise, and it does look pretty good. Not too expensive, if you consider the protection. The line on a partial hood isn't too bad; you just can't let yourself think about it too much.
I plan on getting a clear bra installed on my Jet Black MCS (eek!
).
Where I am, in "the Ohio cornfields" as I like to say, there aren't too many installation options. I'd love to do one myself, but I realize that all of the compound curves of the hood are a nightmare.
This could be an interesting experiment...

We shall see. The VentureShield has a lifetime warranty against cracking, peeling and yellowing vs the 5 year limited warranty on the 3M product. According to the care instructions, all it needs is periodic washing and apply a good grade of liquid wax at least twice a year. Doesn't seem too high maintenance to me
.
The film itself is definetely strong! That stuff is very hard to puncture or stretch, yet the optical clarity is excellent. I know that last year 3M released a second gen film that it is much clearer than the original.
I got the eight mil thick "street version" of the film. They also have 14 mil thick film which is used for heavy duty/race track applications. I think the product is impressive and seems to have good reputation. VentureShield is the clear alternative to 3M film products.

I have a full hood on my Infiniti G35 coupe. Overall, with the full hood, bumper, fenders, mirror caps, and a piece in front of the sunroof, it only cost $600. A cheap price to pay for the amount of protection it offered. The car had about 4 rock chips on it in the first 1200 miles even with being extremely careful (not following any cars close and staying away from any construction truck).
I had my entire bonnet wrapped in Ventureshield by Clearbra of Oregon. They also did the entire front bumper, A-pillars, and the leading edge of my roof up to the sunroof for $650. No visible seams on my black MCS!
I removed my fender trim, headlights, windshield washer jets, hood scoop, and front badge in order to get a true full wrap. They did a beautiful job and it's virtually invisible. You won't know it's on there even from under 3' away.
On my black VW, I have a Stongard kit and it looks like crap with the visible seams. So on the MCS, I swore I would never make that mistake again.

I guess I see it a little differently. I'm not a clear bra fan. Here's why. First of all, the MINI paint appears to be pretty good and tough. I have a very few, tiny chips that are invisible from more than 3 feet away (this may very well be worse for those who drive a lot on dirt roads). Second, I look at them as battle scars. I drive my car hard. And a few chips are to be expected. After all...it is a car ya know. Third, if at some point it gets to the point that it looks really bad (which I think will likely be a long time away), I'll drag it to the body shop and have 'em squirt fresh color on the bonnet for a few hundred bucks. And finally, I can see the clear bras on cars and I personally don't care for the looks. Oh, and they will, over time, age differently than your paint and hence take on a differnet hue than the rest of your car.
You may not agree but that's my $.02 anyway.
ripley.

The folks across from us "ClearBra" use the VentureShield product.
They do the full bonnet, lights, driving lights, and mirrors for $750.... $477 for the normal half bonnet. (installed)
It is indeed much more invisible and stronger than the 3M stuff.

I agree and the optical clarity is excellent in comparison to the 3M film products.

There is a pic of my car with the bra in my gallery. You can't see it!
