Convex Mirror Glass Upgrade:

After dealing with a small chip on the passenger side mirror for a while I decided to replace the glass.

I thought about replacing it with the US version but ended up purchasing the UK version.

Two reasons for the UK version:

: Wanted a larger field of view. The US passenger side mirror is slightly convex but the UK version has a larger curve (driver side in the UK)

: I’m not a big fan of the text “objects in mirror are closer than they appear” on the glass.

Purchase and Part Numbers:

ONLY OEM

I was able to get a VIN from a UK F56, searched Real OEM and got the part numbers.

: Right Side: 51167366040
: Left Side: 51167366041

Seattle MINI was able to locate the right side part in the US, within a week it was at my door.

The left side part was the hardest to locate.
MINI’s US Part Department system did not recognize the part number.

Lloyd Carlisle BMW-MINI in the UK has an eBay store and had the part in-stock. Within two weeks it was at my door.

Installation:

It took well under four minutes for each side. That includes removal, connecting the wires for the heating element and installation.

I understand some say the wires are interchangeable but I had two different color wires.

Top wire was white and bottom wire was black so that’s the way I inserted them into the new parts.

Impressions and Conclusion:

: OEM build quality and fitment are top-notch

: Field of View while driving is absolutely incredible and makes a big difference

: It took about twenty minutes to get used to them while driving and especially while backing up

Overall, they are a very nice upgrade and offer an additional layer of safety while driving

Nice, yep those are the ones they bend out and don't have the little blindspots at the end. I have the blind spot mirrors on my R52 MINI convertible, which are like a must. We can get most of the euro stuff ( Genuine European MINI on the site) if you need anything in the future, just pm me.

Of course, anything Genuine European MINI I purchase from your site.
Originally I had ordered the Genuine European MINI aspherical mirror glass kit from your site but waiting almost seven months was not really ideal.
- Not your company's fault because supply chain and shipping delays

I still have to install the center console without the armrest that was purchased from your site.

Have a great weekend and until the next order -Rich

I just picked up an F57 convertible swapping in mirrors like this would be great. When I look around at different OEM parts sites, it appears that the current convertible (2024) isn’t listed. The parts seem to stop at the previous LCI refresh. Anyone have any info on this?

Thanks.

@divxz, maybe the part websites haven’t updated their database for the newer model years.

While searching for the mirrors many part websites listed up to ‘19, but they were fully compatible with my ‘21

Contact Seattle MINI’s part department and ask about compatibility. They have a great parts department and they have an online store.

Keep us posted and motor on -Rich

We updated our site to 2021, but those mirror glass fits 2022 and 23. I bet the 2024 is the same. All they did is update that outside mirror cap design anyway. Housing stayed the same.

I've had the euro blind spot mirrors on my last 3 VW's and was hoping there were some for the mini. This is great news! It is a MUST for driving.
