Grills for the hood by the wipers?

I was curious if anyone has seen any aftermarket replacements for the grill like inserts in the hood area by the wipers. I am planning on getting the M7 grill for the front bumper and would love something like it for up there after my first born is delivered to Randy for the parts ordered......

Now if I am crazy just tell me but I think itwould look cool to have something a little smoother up there rather than the plastic fake looking grill.

Sounds cool to me. I'm not sure what's available, but those little grilles you're speaking of are usually called "cowl vents." I'd try searching for that term.

moss mini and mini mania both sell the stainless steel mesh cowl vents, they also sell a plastic chrome version.

There is at least one and maybe two people that make "scoops" rather than "vents" to replace the grill thingy by the wipers . They are suppose to force air into the CAI. I saw some on a MINI at Steve's Auto Clinic in North Hills, CA last time Randy Webb had a pully party there but I don't remember who make them.

Maybe the person that had them will tell us. If I can find them I will let you know.

Now that would be even better since I am getting a new CAI from Randy next week. I like the idea of adding function to form as well!

I found them on mossmini under body styling.I am not crazy about the way those look but I like the functionality

I had the old style cowl vents and the dealership replaced them with the new kind (under warranty) last week.

My work order said "cow vents".

I was planning on getting either the chromed plastic ones, or just the chrome bezels that go around the cowl vents when I get the new style ones..

orcairi is one of the companies that make the replacement "scoops" to force air down, and i believe they can be painted to match your car.
