Washers and rear wiper not working

Hi All,

Trying to figure out what's going on with my 04 MCS washer system and rear wiper.
I've had the car for a few weeks, when I got it, the washers and rear wiper functioned as they should. Starting the car up one evening, the rear wiper was running with the stalk switch in the off position and I could not get it to shut off. I pulled the fuse when I got home. Put the fuse back in and now there's no response to the wiper control. I also noticed at this time that neither front or rear washers are working. The lines are not clogged as they were fine the day before. There is no washer pump wirring noise.

Occasionally, the rear wiper will run on its own, with no input from me and then just stop again. Absolutely no washer function at all.
Front wipers function fine but again, no washer.

Here's what I've tried so far:
1. Checked connections at the rear wiper motor. Everything looks fine.
2. Checked all relivent fuses, nothing blown
3. Changed out the wiper/washer stalk. Still same behavior.
4. Checked plugs and connections at washer motor. Connections are fine.
5. Checked washer plug for power getting to the pump. NO POWER evident at plug.
6. Checked BCM for connections and/or water damage. Dry as a bone and all connections look good.
7. Checked relays and plugs by the interior fuse box behind the kick panel. Found one plug with a small amount of green corrosion. Cleaned and used some dielectric grease.
8. Checked battery voltage, at rest 12.6v and 14.8v with car running. Cleaned all battery connections.

At a loss now as to what to look at next. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a short/frayed wire somewhere. I'm not familiar at all with where the wires run but if you're not getting power to the washer, I think I'd start there with tracing the wire and looking for a break or a worn spot. Hopefully someone more familiar with these will chime in.

Sounds like it is time to rain-x the rear window and do a wiper delete....
If not used regularly, the sprayer on the washer plugs, corrodes, and clogs...and due to the design, the motor MIGHT done...think the prior owner disabled it, or is this sudden? As for the pump..check them BOTH? MANY MINI's have two...mine did...due to the xenon headlights..one on one side, one on the other....heck, the turn stalk could even be bad...

Everything worked fine day before problems started. I would delete the rear wiper if it was the only problem. Forgot to mention above that I did hook up a battery direct to the washer pump, it ran fine. No power at the plug.
I did replace the stalk as it seemed the most logical problem solution to loosing both the washers and rear wiper control on the same day.

Been busy tracing wires for cracks, shorts and poor connections. Everything I've come across so far looks great. Very frustrating trying to troubleshoot these little cars.

My rear washer stopped working about a month ago, now the front. I'm checking to see if a specific washer fluid is needed as this seemed to happen right after I had an oil change and they topped off with the industrial blue stuff. Maybe no connection, but that was the only change.

Did you get this fixed? Did they have to replace the wiper motor in front? I had to have the wiper motor replaced and I think I'm getting a song and dance about having to take the body panel off and the trim breaking blah, blah, blah...

Cost me $700 to get my wipers going...

If your asking me, the answer is "sort of". I found out that my 5 amp washer fuse kept blowing. The strange part is that if I replace the fuse, turn the ignition to position one, not starting the car, everything operates as expected, front and rear wipers and washers. As soon as I start the car, the rear wiper runs all by itself and won't turn off. The washer fuse also blows out.

So I unplugged the connection to the rear wiper motor and now the washers work and don't blow the fuse when I start the car. Must be a short in the rear motor itself. Kinda strange though, that it works fine in ignition position one though?
