Guys, be aware the trim ring is not the same for '12 and '13. The new/updated cup holders in the '13 revised the trim ring.

I did the cup holder conversion and ordered the matte finish '13 trim ring.

If someone is ordering a '13 chromeline trim ring and wants matte finish please let me know. I can send you my matte finish one and help out with the costs of the chromeline WIN WIN for everyone

I did the cup holder coversion too. I think I was one of the first to do it as you helped me with the pics. What part number did you get for the chrome line as I though there was only the matte black option.

I have the matte black finish one too. I just sent a request to my parts guy to see if there is a chrome line part for the '13 CM.
I'll post here if I find one

Do you have the part #s to the black finish? My GP came with a bit of everything, matte silver, glossy black, chrome, etc. I think they dropped the ball a little with the mix in the interior

My parts guy said this ( 51169810002) is the '13 part number. He also said it will take a while to get. :(

I guess my matte black finish one will work for now

If you are talking about the shifter ring, it is 51-16-9-810-002. If you are talking about the updated mickey ears and air vents, they are posted in the beginning of this thread, it is known as piano black. Keep in mind, for 2013 they have matte balck on all updated pieces. The only difference is if you want chrome line or the piano black line.

That is the same part that we currently have. The matte black. Which confirms there is no other shifter ring available. You can verify on realoem or Sewell.

Thank you for info, in referring to the shifter ring as well as the vent rings and speedo rings.

is it just the "face" or do the ears fit poorly too? Are you using this on a 2011 CM? I apologize for making this suggestion but could it be the way you installed it that accounts for the gap?

Why did MINI think it was esthetically pleasing by making the tach chrome, the speedo/air vents matte silver and the ring on the steering wheel glossy black on the GPII?

Its both...i have 2012. Someone correct me if im wrong but when i was at the dealership last weekend that gap seems to be present. When i installed it yesterday, the hazard wasnt blocking anything so Im pretty sure it wasnt the cause of the gap.

Are you saying that at the dealership the gap was present on a 2013 CM?

By "fit like a glove" you mean zero gap? If yes that means these others who have the gap are doing something wrong with the install.

Yes, zero gap. I'm pretty particular about my mini as I'm sure most mini owners are....
Even though the swap out for a newer, better dash is a large improvement over the old grey stuff....the fit needs to look as if it were the original from the start....perhaps that's my my SA suggested they do the install.....maybe knowing a few things/tricks with the clips.....we would not. Well worth the hr. charge.

Can you post a pic of yours? I have a little gap in mine too. The part is redesigned on the inside so I figured that's why it didn't sit flush.
