Thats incorrect. There us piano black on the speedo where the chrome is on the chromeline option

I'm not sure what the confusion is....it's either the ugly grey pre 2013 models or change out the 2011 interior to 2013 look, choices are chrome trim or piano black (gloss) in the inner ring....at least those were my options.... I've could of gone with either...it was the ugly gray that gave me issues....Much better look and matches the rest of the dash...

Absolutely... NCM. Installed when they changed out the clutch a few weeks ago.
It's back there for a few other issues....and seems as my aftermarket VIP Heat Shield interfered with some grounding wire...? Still trying to digest that......
Brandon has been more than fair and honest over the years....so I'll chalk that one up to something learned....

The a/c vents are not just plain black. They can be ordered with piano black inserts.

Glad I found this thread. I have always hated the bubbly trim around the speedo. Ever since I replaced the gauge faces I hate it even more.

Anyone know a source for these parts. They seem to be extremely limited in the US and not available in Germany until the end of July.

Just picked up my ,13 pieces. Vents and Mickey in chrome line.
They or I goofed and order the chrome but I'll take it. I can dip the chrome if it bothers me but the black finish is very nice.

Anyone what a deal in a set of '12 trim pieces? Prime for a DIY painting

Install later today.

Conversion was not bad to do at all. The only issue I see it the top of "mickey" is not flush with the top of the dash. The "mickey" is about 1/16" - 1/8" higher. I can't see it from the drivers seat but you can feel it.
I never noticed it with the original mickey in place so maybe it is a non-issue.

Anyone have the '13 chrome shift ring? I have the '13 shift ring in matte black (no chrome)

That's good to know. I'll pull it off and redo it. Maybe I got it off a bit or the hazard switch is not seated right.

Cheers

I'm waiting for my pieces to come in. I guess not many people like the chrome line interior. I for one think the chrome line interior looms better than the gloss black.

Kerrys914 - about the chrome shift ring, to my knowledge, MINI doesn't make one. I've looked and researched everywhere but they only make a matte black or anthracite. But when you go on the MINI cinfigurator and order the chrome line interior, for the JCW it shows matte black with a chrome ring insert but for a countryman s it shows anthracite with a chrome ring. Also I think they will be the rest of the interior trim to anthracite if you order chrome line for 2014 because I beilieve I saw that on the cinfigurator too. :/

Hmm...ok well keep me posted when you get it. Do you have the part number for the shifter ring? If it is indeed a matte black with chrome, I will be making a trip back to the dealer to do an exchange.
