I did the center speedo console upgrade to the new 2013 part as well. I also noticed the gap at the top. Not good, so I removed the peace and did a more careful reinstall but got the same results. After setting in the hot sun for about a week the plastic formed a perfect fit with no bulge or gap looks completely OEM. I like the new look so I would like to purchase new the air vent covers as well. Does anyone have a DIY on how to remove the air vent covers? Form what I have read it is a little more involved than the center peace.

I'm on my phone and have no idea how to c&p the thread, but search for "remove dash trim?" Thread. The drivers side is simple after the passenger.

I got the new mickey piece in the mail today from Sewell and got it installed. No side vents yet, but they'll get here some day.

I wrapped the OEM wheel with a cover from RedLineGoods. Really nice leather and feels great. I made a thread about it here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...linegoods.html

I just got mickey and side vents and cup holders from ecs tuning and installed all in less than an hour. What an improvement and so pleased to be rid of all the silver trim and the Mickey mouse.

Congrats. Lucky! I'm still waiting on mine from Sewell. Been 2 months, hopefully not too much longer.

looks like mine should be shipping out today. any pointers on any of the replacements ? i didn't see a whole lot of information about the side vent covers around but figure it can't be that difficult.

I'm OK with the dash pieces, since mine is a non-S and the parts are anthracite. Even though the texture is different, they blend in well to begin with. What I'd like to find are the inserts for the dash itself (the horizontal pieces that go right above the glove compartment and above the driver's knee bolster). From what I've seen, it looks like they are not available separately, but maybe somebody has an inside line to them (hello, ECS Tuning).

Hey ECS, do you have the black side vents and all the parts for the bigger cup holders in stock? Any news on the new rear cupholders?
Thanks in advance!

They are coming from overseas, so they will take some time, but are available now.

#8 in the diagram below:

For the front cup holder I believe you are talking about #6 and #7 post 11/2012 vs. 4 and 5 pre 11/2012 which MINI has superseded the old part to #6 and #7. So it look like the old part number are NLA.

On the rear cup holders. Nothing available yet, but stay tuned these might come in the future. Of course this is for no center rear rail.

Hello teach,

I believe you are talking about #3, #4, and #2 as they fill the gap above the glove box and knee pads.

Vs.

Looks like the silver, dark anthracite, and everyones favorite piano black is not available yet on its own, looks like down the road soon. They have not been released yet.

Thanks

Thanks, ECS! Yup! Those are the pieces I am looking for (#2, 3, 4). I need them in silver, since that is the color of the door rings and the sides of the center stack in my car. Any idea of a time frame for availability? To me, it looks like something is missing without them there!

They are not available yet on there own for any of the those trims pieces or finishes. Looks like down the road soon. They have not been released yet.

They do look much better with them. Keep checking our site in the future or I am sure this thread.

Thanks

I am surprised that no aftermarket dash kit manufacturer hasn't chosen to produce the 3 pieces with an adhesive backing.

Thanks[/QUOTE]

#2, 3, 4 appear to have clips that fit into a special dash, not the dash for the cm manufactured without the trim. Might require modification to the dish or removal of clips and adhesive to attach. There must be a manufacturer of dash kits who could be pressed to make trim that could be easily applied.

I noticed that too. I'm also surprised that no aftermarket company has come out with a kit yet. My hope is that when the parts are eventually released, they will be a retrofit kit that will use trim tape to hold the pieces on. otherwise, I'll look into modifying them to remove the clips and allow them to fit flush.

Got my left air vent in from Sewell today. Install was so much quicker than the right side, probably 10 minutes tops.

If I recall correctly, the difference between the left side and the right is the removal of two screws holding in the top portion of the glove box, which you need to do to pull it back in order to remove the lower screw for the vent. On the left side you just need to pull back/pop out the top part of the lower dash (knee pad) in order to access the lower screw holding the vent.
