Autoteknic carbon fiber mirrors

I recently received some Autoteknic carbon fiber mirror covers for my Mini. They're wet look carbon fiber layered over a hard plastic shell similar to the oem mirror covers. The shell is not a Mini part but the fit was very good on my car. I bought them from an eBay seller (led4you). His buy it now price was $179.95 delivered but he accepted my offer of $150. Installation was straightforward using the instructions provided by slimjimtell on this forum. The new covers snap on just like the originals. Not JCW but they look pretty good on my humble justa.

Those look pretty nice. The factory ones are a single layer of CF with no "shell" because you can actually see *through* the weave in some places when they are off the car and there's light behind them, so these are made a little differently, but they work the same and they're a LOT cheaper, I'm sure.

Very nice!

Shucks you beat my price by $5. I like mine: I don't know if they're as good as the Ku Engineering caps but mine fit great.

Yup, they look good on yours, that's all I'm looking for, aesthetics, and I don't have the JCW Hood scoop to match which is what I think the other's were asking about in the KU Engineering ones.

Sorry, no scoop on my justa so I don't know whether this matches or not. It's wet look carbon fiber if that helps.

I have the KU engineering caps and they match my MINI CF bonnet scoop perfectly. The ones in the OP look really good and look like the KU caps.

When I bought mine the eBay seller was led4you and the price was about $180 or best offer. He accepted my offer of $150 and I received my covers quickly with no problems. They're still installed and still look great. I believe the seller has now morphed into aftermarket_outlet and is still offering the covers at $180 or best offer (with free shipping). I don't know if he'll still accept a $150 offer but you can give it a try.

They should not bubble. I have the factory and ku versions and they are both the same as the day I got them.

Yikes, after reading your post I went out and inspected mine carefully and they're starting to bubble too. The clear coat looks really thick but it's acquiring a "bumpy" texture on the top side where they're exposed to the sun. The bottom of the covers are still as smooth as new. It doesn't look as though the carbon fiber is delaminating from the plastic shell but something strange is going on. FWIW my car is always garaged and probably doesn't see sun for more than 10 hrs per week.

Yea, that's the same thing I'm experiencing with mine, my car is not garaged and sees the sun whenever the sun is out
