R56 Carbon Fiber Handle Overlays. Help?
Carbon Fiber Handle Overlays. Help?
A few months back I purchased some carbon fiber overlays from a member here. I never got around to installing them until yesterday. I got the gas cap overlay installed. I used 3M double sided tape. Not perfect on the back side when it comes to alignment, bet when the lid is closed it looks great and that is what really matters.
Now the issue I'm having is these overlays are a perfect fit. Meaning I can't use the 3M double sided tape. What have people used to adhear these kind of overlays?

I have used some pretty high strength spray adhesives in the past...3M 90 or something similar might help. Or maybe even some double sided facade tape. it tends to be thinner than the usual 3M foam tape
what about that 3M badge and emblem adhesive that comes in a small tube the same size as Bondo activator? I would imagine it has similar holding strength to their exterior double sided tape and is probably made to be at least moderately removable. You probably only need a few dabs of it on either side of the keyhole.
