to stripe or not

I recently picked up a 2007 mcs in silver with black top and am thinking about adding black stripes to her. the question i have is if i do not like them after a while is it a real pain to remove them?

Probably would depend on the quality of the vinyl material used. Some stuff comes right off in one piece. Other stuff can be brittle and come off in pieces....pita.

Either way, parking in the sun for a while and a simple hair dryer both help.

I was standing next to a guy removing his factory stripes and there was no problem that I saw. Also, I didn't have them on my first two MINIs but I'm really liking them on my 3rd. They brake up the short wide bonnet.

My vote is for Black sport stripes going down the middle of the bonnet and the boot! Loves it! (best mod to do because when you get sick of it you can take them off yourself)-- ditto to what grayraven said. Can be a bit of a pita, but it is the best way to dramatically change the look of your car for a small amount of money. Bang for buck! Do it!

+1. Gonna put those on the wife's Clubbie next time it goes for a check-up.

And how could you not like stripes?!!!

I've been anti-stripes, but lately I've been seeing all the stripers, and I'm about to put some right down the middle of my bonnet.

I agree with everyone, great mod, reasonable cost and the best thing is if you get a wild hair and want to change to something else it's easy....go for it.

Have an appointment for Tuesday to have the black sport stripe with pin stripes down the bonnet and the boot. Should add more character to her though she already has plenty.

Post a pic in THIS thread if you think of it once you get it done! My MA really surprised me when he got the new style of stripes for me (I think they are the 2011 style stripes that are black with red on the side)-- I really like them on my car! Can't wait to see yours! Good choice!

also N2MINI NAM Member makes custom stipes.

Stripes can be MILD or WILD. Be BOLD and make a statement!

I think cooper flags had one that went down the drivers side of the bonnet and boot. I think it would've looked great but I decided to go with the more standard ones 'cause I was lazy...

I'd love to see pics if anyone has them. There are as many stripes as cars these days!
