Looks like a nice piece of bling. Any experiences or comments?

i just installed it and it looks very nice esp on a dark silver mini.
i did put 3m tape all the way around it to get a good seal though.

blackie,

In my opinion, that's too bulky and the design doesn't conform to the shape of the car's body... changes the whole appearance of the boot in a negative way. On top of that, unless you put it on a black MINI, it would stand out way too much.

But hey, it would alleviate a tough area to keep clean.

All your thoughts sort of sum up mine. I am not sure how I'd like the appearance, although I already had M7's CF scoop on my pepper white bonnet, which I liked just fine and it received constant street applause. I am also not sure if it is an enhancement or a detraction when on the boot, but I also think the rear is one of the worst to keep clean from dirt; that well is like a magnet.

Marcus from the club has this and the JCW CF handle. It looks bad *** on HIS car but it's black. I think that's the only color that can pull it off well. Let me see if I can find any pics for you guys......... NOPE...NO PICS. But, he was at AMVIV this year. Maybe someone has some pics from there.

For me to make a more valid opinion I would have to see it in person. The one straight on shot does not give me enough detail. I do like the mini wings that are in the sides, but I wonder how the side profile looks. I did think that it was a cool aesthetic mod though.

i have one, it doesnt match the jcw handle and the fitment sucks.

i also got the front splitter at the time and im not impressed with that either. There is a GIANT visable seam off to one side where the carbon matte was joined and there is visable glue all over the bottom where the front lip cover was installed. ALSO they dont say anywhere on the site that its a LAYER of carbon on top of a while bunch of fibreglass..

im still waiting on the air diffuser for the rad.. well see how well that one fits...

There are a lot of things they don't say on their website. And don't expect them to anytime soon.

What do you mean? You actually expect parts to fit? Oh boy, now you are just asking for it....

I have the air diffuser and the fit was fine. My only issue with it was the fact that the underside screws that hold my driving lamps in place to the grill do not clear the diffuser; the bonnet shuts fine, but those screw heads come right down to the surface of the diffuser. I took a couple of clear rubber adhesive pads that are made to go on the back of a picture frame (as wall bumpers) and placed them on the top side of the diffuser to prevent the screw heads from doing any long-term damage. If you do not have the driving lamps (or you have them located on the lower, rather than the upper, grill) I doubt you will have any problems.

As to your remarks, am I to understand the splitter is NOT pure CF? What about the CF license plate backer; is it pure CF? Also, could you be more specific on how the CF license plate backer's "fitment sucks"?

Why not return it? It seems you have a legitimate reason. Did you ask the vendor about working something out?

As to the vibrations, how does it attach to the boot? Is it simply held in place with the license plate bolts?

I have another thread going on recent problems I had with Palo Uber that now seem to be mostly worked out, but it brought out quite a few posters who had similar issues with PU. Many were about what the poster felt was misleading representations on advertised products, including the rebadging of cheap and inferior goods, then marking them up significantly. The trend is not in PU's favor. Are you saying you have had problems with M7 too?

I asked already if you tried returning it. What are your alternatives? Would you try to sell it knowing you had problems with it?

We installed a couple of them at MITM. They are incredibly easy to put on and very attractive on the darker colored cars. One modification i recomend for it is to drill the two lower holes for the licence plate so that you can mount the plate and backer using all 4 screws.

Yes I am, but that is all I am going to say about it in order for this thread not to implode. I think it is documented enough, just do a search.

What I am really trying to say is it would be nice that if a vendor to include any issues they are aware of in their product description. I.E. our product X might not fit if you have product Y. Or, product Z might require modification to fit on some cars.

This has been discussed at length to no avail. Most vendors seem to have taken the attitude of collecting the money first and disclosing relevant information later.
