For those who have the red, do you think the red map light is bright enough to read maps? I like the red but am trying to determine if I should go with the white for map light and trunk light.

Do what I did. Order the full red LED package but just leave the standard map lights in. I didn't even put them in to see how bright they were. I just figured I don't use the map light too often and when I do I'm sure it's because I actually want to see something.
I also left the original map light in place. The idea behind the red was to preserve night vision at astronomy star parties. I wouldn't be using the map light in those situations. If/when my map lights burn out, I'll replace them with white LEDs.
Whether you want white in the boot depends on the reason for red. If it is to preserve night vision, you don't want white there because it will be on frequently.
I don't need night vision, just thought it looks cool. Since the map lights have to be turned on seperately, I think I'll go with red LEDs overall and white LEDs for map light. Thanks for the feedback.
I would not recommend changing out the map lights with a color'd light. You rarely use the map lights, except when you need to really see (aka read) something or similar situation. So not changing them has no affect on the ascetics of the cool looking led's. And leaving them as bright white, still gives you the ability to see when needed.
Wow. Neat stuff! That red LED is just eeee-vil. I imagine yellow might not be all that popular outside of thematics, unless, of course, you're going for the jaundice look.
I saw a tire wheel stem valve cap in yellow LED on some site that lights up when you're going faster than 30mph. It creates a sort of light-stripe around the tire while it's moving. I thought that was kind of cool.
Is there anyway that a green kit will ever be avaliable for the 07+ Cooper S. I don't know about anyone else, but i believe that a green kit on my laser blue mcs w/ white top/mirror and white crown-spoke would look really good...

The LED's do look cool!!
I have to agree with this. I did change the map lights to blue and they are really not bright enough to read anything with. I'm going to change mine back.
I just installed the super whites in my Clubman. They look much better that I thought they would. I used a paint can opener to get the housing off. I still cannot get the original bulbs out from the reading lamps. Help??
I am little confused on which set to get. I have a 2004 MC and would like the BLUE LED's. Dome included. The 2004 set on your page says it's only available in super white. Is there a way to get it in blue?

The PANEL only comes in white, but if you order the BUDGET kit, you get a conventional LED bulb for the dome light, and that's available in blue.
My car is blue and it came with the blue lights in the interior. I think it looks great!
and whats nice is if they burn out you can get them at any auto parts store.

AHHHH.. I see. Thanks for the clarification. Would you say that the LED blub alone would be sufficient to get the desired effect?
Also, not sure if this is the right forum to ask but I'll try anyways...my 2004 cooper did not come with over head map lights. Does an option exits to add these?
Also, what other car light fixtures does "Budget" kit include. Is it only the dome? And in the description, it's say 2007+ Copper and S. Will these fit the 2004?
