New Apple Carplay MINI Cooper Retrofits - Bremmen Parts

Finally Car Play Retrofits that don't require flashes! These will also not delete after software updates at the MINI dealer!

Plug & Play interface to add Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to your factory infotainment system!

These are piggybacks that give you the upgrade, here are the breakdowns and what unit to use.

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bremmen-...-sound_system/

CCC - This has the original MINI Navigation Screen R55/R56/R57 MINI Coopers 2007-2010 With CCC Navigation or 6.5" Factory Center Display Screen

CIC - This has the original LCI MINI Navigation Screen R55/R56/R57/R58/R59/R60/R61 MINI Coopers 2011-2016 With CiC Navigation or 6.5" Factory Center Display Screen. These MINI can have the Screen for MINI connected but no factory Navigation. So you have the screen but no Compass Icon. With our Carplay unit you will have Google Navigation.

***Factory F55-F57 PRE March 2018 Production:: This is the only way to have Apple Carplay as the newer and only MINI Connected App does not support older 2014-2018 Models. ***

NBT EVO ( Newer Icons )- has the larger controller most of the time ( watch as people like to do the factory wider screen upgrade, so it looks like its this)

NBT (older design Icons) - has the little controller most of the time ( watch as people like to do the factory wider screen upgrade)

Fits:
Select 2007+ MINI Coopers

I have a 2014 Mini S Paceman with CIC Navigation. Can a backup camera be connected to this unit?

How difficult would it be to update my 2012 Harman Kardon R55 to the CIC non-navigation pack so I could add this CarPlay module? What would I need to source?

Yes, the yellow colored RCA cables are the ones you tap for the camera. They are included with the bremmen parts kits.

Camera for r55 Clubman, R60 Countryman, and R61 Paceman:

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bremmen-.../002480brpc03/

We only have the camera for certain models right now, hope to have the rest of the MINI models in the future that did not come with back up cameras stock.

Here is the Non Nav to Nav CCC version 2007-2010 and some people then did the Nav CiC version for the 2011+ cars later in the thread : https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-retrofit.html

If I'm reading that post correctly, all I really need is the speedo and display, then add the Bremen CarPlay adapter, and I'm golden....

Yep, got to get those parts, some factory wire connection for the NAV and then some coding for the Nav to work. Then add the bremmen kit.

Also found some more info out on the old MINI connected system you get with the Nav or Non Nav (display with MINI connected). My car has it. The app and MINI connected is pretty much dead for 2007-2018. Thank goodness we have the bremmen units now for people with Nav/MINI Connected or MINI connected (screen only).

Thank you for the quick reply!
Please confirm my understanding:
1) The unit has a video input (yellow RCA) for a back-up camera. <Question> Is there a trigger wire on the unit for the reverse signal?
2) The back-up camera for R61 Paceman is sold separately and is not available until Aug 22, 2023 according to link?

I've never played with the Mini display, so bear with me here...
Are the displays a touch screen? As long as I have the screen, do I need the console joystick? If navigation is going to be handled by the CarPlay, do I need to add the navigation disc control unit?

Yes, trigger wire on unit and on the camera you can see that red wire.

Yes they are shared with BMW and we sold out, we have more on order. You could do the carplay now and down the road add the camera.

---

Factory Nav/MINI connected or MINI Connected for Gen 2 all MINI is non touch screen and require the center console change and little joystick. I would get the driver and DVD (what ever comes with the used one) or flash update, a used one should have the information uploaded. I think 2015 was the last year which later CiC use the USB update in the glove box https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-what-for.html .

I had it in my 2012 also https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...2/65902365693/, dealership might be able to flash the update after install.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...re-update.html software link as usb is nla.

2007-2010, but also the same for 2011-2015

If I have to add the joy stick, sounds like it will get price restrictive for me, as I would then also need to get new center console, too.

or a little junkyard hunting and/or facebook might be an option. Never thought I’d find the rear hard brake lines for the R55s, but patience paid off. There are a lot of Mini’s getting parted on Facebook, there is a guy up In Michigan and one here in Ohio that might have what you need, Willmeck Mini auto parts on fb and I do believe eBay, is the one in Ohio and might be your best option.

@ECSTuning That certainly looks like a nice piece, but also looks like the other Chinese units on the market. What makes yours stand out? I am interested, but need confirmation of the following:
- HK integration: I have the HK system without factory navigation. I don't want to HAVE to swap out the speakers and amp just to get a CarPlay unit.
- Steering wheel controls: I assume this unit integrates with all steering wheel controls?
- Factory clock: How does this unit factory clock and other settings?
- Instructions: How are the instructions that come with this unit?

Hello,

This is the best fit and most oem one i have found.

HK integration: Plug and play, the one installed right now sounds awesome as the EQ is adjustable in the system.
Steering wheel controls: Yep
Factory clock: yep top left on screen
Instructions: Comes with detailed instructions(not show in pics) and diagrams in the box

Has anyone installed the Bremmen CIC unit for original LCI MINI Navigation Screen R55/R56/R57/R58/R59/R60/R61 MINI Coopers 2011-2016 With CiC Navigation?

@ECSTuning This might be a dumb question, but can your Android screen (part number 4766301) be upgraded to Android 10 or later? Or is that even necessary if all I need is wireless CarPlay?

Apologies in advance - I've drank the Apple juice and have am very stupid about the Android world.

Hello,

You cannot change the screen out on the Factory MINI navigation cars as they are made to use the small gray box piggyback units that utilize the factory screen. (See below) Their would have to be bypassing of the factory nav system and other things done, i dont know anyone whom has done it nor know what it entitles.
