Just got a call from my MA. My MINI is on the Chesapeake Highway. Marinetraffic.com says it left Southampton 2013-03-02 23:27 local time. Finally some progress.

Was talking to him about the GPs and Austin MINI has a couple left that are available if anyone is looking.

Nice Pics ,

They went to the stock looking Bilsteins with black springs, the only other ones I saw were from the GP launch last year , they had the the same housing with red springs. Regular Pss9 usually have blue springs.

Car is at Crevier MINI for today only if anyone in the area wants to check it out ....no test drives though and vehicle is not for sale.

Guys - got a call from my Mini Dealer telling me the car is at the dealership. The numbered stickers were NOT applied at port - and need to be installed by the dealer....

Says I may be able to pick it up tomorrow - or at least soon!

Apparently, I also need to sign a waiver for the Kumho's, or agree to ride on them until regular performance tires come in (free) and replace my Kumhos, at which point they will take and destroy the Kumhos. The Kumhos are NOT to be used under 45 degrees etc etc.

Pretty Excited - I'll be sure to have pics as soon as its mine.

They won't destroy them, They'll be on one of the service guys cars. Or one of the managers

Wrong...

They are required to send the tires back to MINI USA as a warranty item

Took Delivery today, and I'm in LOVE. I can't decide between staring at it from the outside and wanting to drive it more.

I had trouble understand the reviews that said it was 'faster than the specs show' until today - the thing is a ROCKET - EXTREMELY fast and nimble, and the handling feels as though it has supercar performance.

It's a bit loud (especially by the exhaust) but it DOES have bluetooth which works perfectly, and the ambient lighting is a cool feature for those that don't want to hear about performance :P

I had my choice of #0048 or #0369 - I took #0369...

I'm already planning a few trips just to take it farther. Troegs Brewery/ Hersheys factory here we come!

Man, only 30 of these are coming to South Africa :( . After converting to USD, it'll cost around $44 730 and the Countryman JCW is more expensive at $49 460. Chances of me seeing a JCW GP in reality then, are low..

Itsallmuscle: I agree with your first impressions. We took delivery of our GP [0052] yesterday! The wait was well worth every second. This Mini is seriously fun, fast and a kick to drive. Looking forward to warmer weather to unleash those sticky tires. Took a chunk out of the 1200 miles break-in yesterday...smiling out loud all the way!

Congrats on the new GP2 , looks great !!

Where you able to look under it and see if the front under-body panel is there?

We have the past 2006 GP wash Kit , available. Its a piece of motoring history with the 2006 GP.

Test drove the new one yesterday at MINI of Camarillo. Great car but I'm not giving up GP1257 to buy one.

I'm surprised it was available for test drive and isn't already spoken for.

That same thing happened to three out of five units at my dealer. You're not alone.

Picking it up today, what are folks doing about tires? Keeping Kumho' or getting the winter tires? No cost to change.
Cheers

I'm keeping the Kuhmos for track day and buying a good street tire for daily use. Any body know the offset of the new gp rim?
