I have mine since February and in Mexico you can't configure anything about the car, not even tires, not even think in satelite radio.

I used to own a 2012 JCW (N14) with some mods and it felt quicker, but this one feels with much better handling and the brakes are awesome, just feel that better pads are needed.

And it definitely sucks that we don't have car numbers (only 50 arrived to Mexico), at least I'm happy that BMW brought this version, last GP never saw Mexican soil.

Hi,

You can now get your official number

go to

http://www.facebook.com/MINI

pm them with your VIN and ask them for your production number. A couple of days later they will send you back your official production number. Mine is 1486. BTW the official factory numbers do not match the USA numbers.

I have seen some people outside of the USA who have even had the numbers sourced to stick on the car.

Thanks Robbo!

It will be interesting knowing the production number, I'll put it here.

Here's a picture of my car as it is right now:

I sourced the Vinyl in Mexico, it´s not that hard, it's flat red, so no, it doesn't match the mirrors, instead I matched the mirrors with flat red plastidip.

The idea was to put vinyl in the mirror caps, but it's imposible, or at least no one here could do it in one piece.

Exhaust is custom, is not a particular brand, I put it together, cheaper and just the way I want it.

Don't get me wrong, I love the car and all the performance options but I hate having to choose between modern amenities like the awesome MINI Connected NAV system and the highest performance engine. I'm sure I'll adjust but I think it's short-sighted to assume all GP owners won't care that they can't order what they want after already paying a premium for a limited-edition car.
I know exactly what you mean!! It has less options then the basline model here in Australia!
Regardless, my deposit is down and I CAN'T WAIT!!!

The GP is one of those cars where less is more.

I took a slightly different approach to the roof numbers...I purchased a new roof decal, cut out the car number and remounted the modified decal. The number is outlined on the decal by the silver roof.

I see on the spec comparison sheet way back in the first pages of the thread that the GP has a significant amount of negative front camber. What did MINI use to achieve this?

The strut top on the gp is a different design to all other r56's. The holes for the bolts on the top are in slightly different position, which gives it more camber.

the upper strut mount bolt holes are slots allowing for some camber adjustment. My GP has the adjustment set for max. neg. camber from the factory. I had an 09 jcw and the upper mount hole spacing is the same as the 13 GP

Thanks Tim! It's been a while since me and my girlfriend do this. I used to participate in some rally events with her (she still does) and that's how we "mark" the cars =)

GP Production#

Thanks again for the helpful tip -- Euro Mini confirmed that our GP was the 100th produced out of 2000 (#52 for USA).
