2013 mini gp
March would be ridiculous. They already showed a near-complete model in Paris. If my dealer tells me it's March, I'm out. I'm not going to endure the entire winter with a rear wheel drive convertible - if it doesn't slide into a snow plow I'll end up having to replace the top because the rear window cracks.
For now, that's not what I'm hearing from my dealer. I already went to them once telling them that someone on the web said March and they said that's not what they were told and I shouldn't worry about it until I hear from them.

I hear you about saving up! I've got $10k saved. I guess if it takes longer that's kind of a bonus in that regard!
I hope for both of our sakes that your dealer is incorrect and we both get them in December. :-)
I'm poised to order a JCW Coupe though. It's so tempting for me because of the unique design and MINI Connected/NAV option.

They don't start production till mid-late November. It will be late January at the earliest.
I have heard that as well. Paceman delivery dates are in March as well.
I also heard March, and that MINI USA is considering a special delivery event. Just a rumor, nothing concrete.
However I'm sure MINI USA does not want a bunch of brand new GP2s slipping around on those racy Kumho tires in the cold of winter (okay, maybe Florida would be fine

Are you referring to Mini of Baltimore in Owings Mills? I looooove that place. I stop in once a week to get inspiration for my next mod on my R53! Very very nice showroom!
Latest GP info
Latest I heard is that it will be 500 cars to the US. Every dealer will be getting ONE GP to sell. Then original 2006 MINI GP owners, not just owners, only original owners will be given a 1-800 that they will get first dibs to buy the new GP for the first couple weeks they go on sale. After that MINI will open the 1-800 for anyone else that wants to order one of the remaining available cars.
My dealer finally confirmed March time frame. I'm going to buy a JCW Coupe instead. The GP is awesome but it's got stuff I'll probably never use and the Coupe will have MINI Connected, which I'll use every day. Besides the Coupe's no poor performer.
Mini of Baltimore County
Yes, the one on Reisterstown Road. My wife & I have bought all our Mini's from them. They have the best service, before and after the sale! BIG showroom, spotless service bays, knowledgeable techs and sales staff, and managers who are really car people. They have been very supportive of all the local Mini car clubs, and routinely sponsor fun events at their dealerships and drive outings. I would never consider buying a car from anyone else!

Getting it properly tuned at a shop would be better.
Ya but I'd have to buy a tuner, etc. I don't want it tuned to a razors edge and everyone around here is $$$$ plus buying the tuner itself. With a 17% and 380s, the JCW tune is a good choice for me.
This just in..
MINIUSA announced GP pricing to dealer yesterday in a bulletin that outlined standard equipment, allocation and timing. Check it out after the break.
The GP will retail for $39,950 including destination. Here’s a quick look at other key facts:
500 slotted to US market
Each dealer gets one car.
All other cars will be available via a toll free number this Friday with current GP owners getting first crack
Standard JCW wheels and run flats available for $100
Special delivery for 50-100 in early March (details TDB)
US market gets Bluetooth, auto climate control, flat load floor, standard radio and Recaros.
How do you get your hands one one? It’s a reservation line. You call MINI USA and put a deposit down via phone. That deposit is then transferred to your dealer of choice where the sale is handled.
